  1. It might be an awesome place to visit :o

    Red!I'm shocked... :o

Delta IV does sound intriguing though, doesn't it?The place probably makes Risa look like a Sunday School picnic.

I'm wondering about the differing appearance of Deltan males and females..

I read in the novelization of Star Trek IV,that the Saratoga's helmsman was a Deltan, and he had a white leonine mane of hair, bushy white eyebrows and orange-hued flesh (not to mention red eyes).Since the Federation president on Star Trek VI,looked similar,I'd always assumed that he,too was Deltan.Yet,Ilia looked very human.

  2. I thought it would have been much more interesting casting the bajorans as the bad guys, and the Cardassians as the oppressed. But,by the time DS9 came about,we had already been introduced to both species on TNG and the dye was cast.

It all seemed rather bigoted that the most human-looking of the two species should be savaged by the more alien-looking people.

In answer to the topic question, yes,I believe the Cardasians had redeeming qualities about them.Certain Cardassians have displayed kindness, courage, self sacrafice, and valor.I liked Damar, very much.Garak,as well. :o

  3. I would say comedy, too. That is,if your certain that you don't want them in sci-fi.That's where I would place them.

It is difficult, though.Kind of like Eight-Legged Freaks. Its very funny at times, but is also horrific, and action-oriented.The same is true for Tremors.

I also keep my DVD's in genre order (although, like you,I started them off in alphabetical order :o ).

  4. I liked Spider-Man comics as a kid.Man,I really wished I'd saved those comics.I'd be rolling in money right now!

You know,Captain Jean-Luc Picard, another thing great about Spider-Man is that he didn't always beat up the villain (sometimes he got the heck beaten out of him!),but he always managed to win in the end, usually by utilizing that gifted brain of his to come up with a plan to make the much tougher and more experienced bad guy do his own self in.That was great.

That's always more interesting than being an indestructable, nearly omnipotent super character.I mean, where's the fun in going up against that sort of guy?

I MIGHT ADD THAT ANOTHER GOOD COMIC,SHARING MANY OF THE SAME CHARACTERISTICS OF THE SPIDER-MAN BOOKS IS DC COMICS' ROBIN TITLE.LIKE PETER PARKER,TIM DRAKE (Robin) IS A HIGH-SCHOOL AGED KID WITH AN ABOVE AVERAGE INTELLIGENCE.HIS CHARACTER IS ALSO VERY HUMAN AND CAPABLE OF MAKING MISTAKES.IN FACT,HE OFTEN DISAGREES WITH HIS MENTOR THE BATMAN,AND SEEMS TO PREFER WORKING ON HIS OWN TO FIGHTING CRIME AS A MEMBER OF THE "DYNAMIC DUO".LAST YEAR,THE BATMAN FIRED ROBIN'S GIRLFRIEND FROM THE GOTHAM CITY SUPERHERO BIZ,WHITCH DID NOT SIT WELL WITH ROBIN OR THE GIRL (Who goes by the name of The Spoiler).

IT'S A SOLID BOOK FOR THOSE OF YOU OUT THERE INTO READING COMICS.

  5. I LOVE THE FILM,"THE FIFTH ELEMENT",WITH BRUCE WILLIS AND MILIA JOVOVICH.IT'S GREAT SCI-FI THAT DOESN'T TAKE ITSELF TOO SERIOUSLY (Which is one of the reasons I love it so much).

HAVE ANY OF YOU WATCHED THIS MOVIE?I LOVE THE CHARACTER PLAYED BY COMEDIAN CHRIS TUCKER.HE'S A SORT OF 25th-CENTURY LITTLE RICHARD.

THE MOVIE HAS AN ABOVE-AVERAGE STORYLINE,A GREAT CAST OF ACTORS,AND TOP NOTCH SPECIAL EFFECTS.AND THERE ARE A LOT OF COMEDIC MOMENTS.I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT,TO ANYONE.

  6. I LOVED THE ARGO SHUTTLE AND THE GROUND VEHICLE.

I'VE WONDERED FOR YEARS WHY STARFLEET AWAY TEAMS TRANSPORTED DOWN TO A PLANET AND THEN WALKED RATHER THAN SURVEY IN A VEHICLE OF SOME TYPE (Especially when the survey takes place over a large area of land).AND IT'S A THROWBACK TO THE APOLLO ASTRONAUTS NEAT LITTLE LUNAR DUNE BUGGY.

  7. I think that the main viewer is a combination of the two.It is capable of "enhancing" the natural view of surrounding space through computer generated amplification of lighting, and such.

As for the shuttles....I can't say.

  8. My daughters and wife are crazy about Japanese food.I hate it.Everytime we eat out I dread the vote, because I know where we're going,Yoshino's.

I'll usually order a Tereyaki Chicken (or beef) rice bowl and a beer. That, and not look at my family while they're eating their sushi and sashimi and whatever else they have in front of them...just once,I'd like to go to the Outback Steakhouse or to T.G.I. Fridays....
