  1. Mr.Tinkles has a good point.

A friend of mine,a recent immigrant from Estonia (where he taught mathematics at university)is only just learning to speak, read, and type in English.Just to view one of his e-mails,you wouldn't think,"Oh,here is an educated man".But he is one of the smartest people I know.

Don't assume a man (or woman) is ignorant based on their typing skills.

Now,to address the topic. My children are enrolled in public schools. They were given the choice of public, private,or home schooling by their mother and myself a few years ago,and (surprisingly,to me at least),they all preferred to remain in public school. But,we have some very good schools and teachers here.

  2. Information.

I want to know the winners of the next thirty-years worth of sporting events and horse races.I want the winning Powerball, and California Lottery numbers.

I want Yvonne Craig's home address and tips from Shatner on how to score with a deranged Orion Animal Woman.

I want the technical schematics on how to build a duotronic computer system.

I want Bill Gates bank account numbers.

I want to know how the Stock Market plays out for the next decade, maybe longer.

    I want....

  3. I thought they had really bad hair.

That thing on their heads was hair?I thought they were some type of bizarre hats or something.

Wow.I'd hate to have to take a comb through THAT mess....

I thought the Kazon were pretty cool,as far as minor villains go.I tried to sympathize with them, because they had been brutalized by the Trabe, but I could never find anything redeeming in them.I mean,as soon as they overthrew their oppressors, they immediately turned on each other!

I was also a bit disappointed in their appearance.I thought they were going to be like the animated series' Kzinti,cat-aliens.That would've been much cooler,IMO.I've said it once, and I'll say it again,Trek has too many danged human-looking species.Other sci-fi shows with just as tight a budget have great alien FX,so I don't believe Trek when it blames budget concerns for not having better looking aliens.

  4. WELL,I'VE BEEN TO TOO MANY OTHER FAN SITES TO REMEMBER,AND NOT A ONE OF THEM WAS NEARLY AS ENJOYABLE AS THIS ONE,OR AS OPEN TO OFF-TOPIC SUBJECTS.IN FACT,I'VE STOPPED GOING TO ALL OF THE OTHER SITES I ONCE FREQUENTED IN ORDER TO SPEND ALL OF MY FREE TIME HERE.

  5. ya i could go for some updated sfx. i cant stand the tos effects. lol

The idea isn't updated effects, but replicating the original so they look crisp and clean.

All adds up pretty much to the same thing,as far as I'm concerned.I'd like to see that.Of course,I'd still keep me old collection of TOS videos for nostalgia. :o

  6. I was a little unsettled by Spock's forced meld with Valeris in The Undiscovered Country. It was almost, well, obscene in a sense.I felt very uncomfortable watching that. :o

Spock's meld with picard after the death of Sarek was very moving.Almost brought a tear to my eye.

    :o

  7. The United States baseball team has been eliminated from the '04 Athens Olympics, after losing to previously winless Mexico in the America's qualifying match.(how does a winless team make it into a qualifying match?).

Now,the gold medla in baseball will be contested between Italy,Spain,Korea, and Cuba.I am so proud of our boys (most of them professionals) :o

  8. I don't care for supermassive ships, unless we're talking Star Wars, and then I'm fine with it.I love superstar destroyers and Mon Calamari battle cruisers.

But as we're talking Star Trek and the Federation, then I say no.Never.Let the Romies have their ridiculously proportioned warbirds, and the Kazon keep their stolen Trabe monstrosities.Nothing larger than a Sovereign for the Federation.

I'd be in favor of larger numbers of smaller,faster,well-armed starships (like the Intrepids,Defiants, and Prometheuses).

  9. The Borg probably have not been totally defeated.

I will agree that the Collective has suffered a massive defeat, and that they may require generations to return to their former strength in terms of numbers of Borg, ships, and transwarp conduits.

But they will be back. :o
