  1. What's with this season?

Last week Minnesota gets crushed by the Chargers...the Rams get schooled by a second-string QB and the 49ers...

This week the Bengals maul the strongest franchise in years,Kansas City...and again, the Vikings get obliterated by a weak AFC team, the Raiders....

What in the hell is going on?

I honestly can't remember anything like this season...all of the injuries, the sudden and unexpected rise and fall of teams.

I can't make any more predictions this season.I'm done.

  2. You lucky $#@!

I saw Kiss back in '77 (or '78  ) in St.Louis.To this day that was one of the loudest, most exciting concerts I have ever been to.I was never a huge fan of theirs, but they rock good enough.Aerosmith are good, too.

I'll agree with KlingonMike,Steven Tyler would make one ugly damned woman...but he sure makes some hot daughters, don't he? :wow:

    Have fun,Smiley.

  3. another day...nothing.

I think I'm going to suggest my buddy just look for an apartment.

I hate these $#@!ing landlords we've been dealing with.I'd love to see them in the position their propective renters are in,and then see how high and mighty they act.I'd think less than a third of people could stand up to their ridiculous standards.

    Oh well,f#@! 'em.

(and we wonder why poor people in certain countries string up landowners after a revolution occurs.)

  4. I hope to God I never have to rent a home for myself again,EVER (and since I own my home,I shouldn't have to)...

I spent today checking out homes for rent in the Jonesboro Sun's classifieds for my friend Jorge. The attitudes of some of the real estate companies and private owners shocked me.Its as if people who smoke and pet owners have become the scum of the Earth, because the second they hear that you smoke or own a dog, that's it amigo, hit the road...

Jorge has great references, the guy works hard, makes good money...but none of that matters because he and hiw wife both smoke, and the family own 2 dogs (that they always keep outside),a pair of caged love birds, and two cats. Not a single solitary home listed in the paper would have them for those reasons :)

I know some folks rent a place and tear it up and the owners are worried about renting to folks like that, but this is ridiculous...

What's next?Homes reserved only for vegetarians?Homes only for people of certain religious beliefs?Or only for people with certain political or environmental viewpoints?

If I ever get a bigger home and decided to rent out this place, the only thing I'm concerned about is if the renter has my rent, has a good credit history...and that's about it,because I'd have home owners insurance for the rest.

Whats happening is descrimination against pet owners and smokers which should be illegal.

  5. There is a favorite bumper sticker here in Arkansas that says "God,Guns, and Guts made America Free!Let's Keep all Three!"...I saw a bumpersticker that was modeled after that, but included God,The Enterprise, and James T. Kirk. Its been so long I can't recall the exact wording, but I remember liking it.

A dayglow orange hearse,Sirius? What's wrong with that guy?

There will be one time I ever ride in a hearse of ANY color, and thankfully I'll be past caring when it happens. Those dang vehicles freak me out. Can't stand even looking at one. :)

  6. I don't own very many Trek books.I have a couple or a half-dozen around the house someplace. Most of the one's I've read,I've checked out of the library and then returned when I was finished.

  7. I can't say as I've ever really considered that possibility,sirius.

:) I think I'm with you, though.I'm pretty sure the Valiant's recorder marker said that the entire crew were blown to smithereens, and only a single crewmember survived the passage through the barrier to evolve into whatever gary mitchell turned into.

  8. I sometimes go there just to see if anyone is there...but,of course, there sin't since I always check late in the a.m.,when no chats are scheduled. But that seems like the only time I'm ever interested in chatting.

  9. I'm fairly certain Nemesis occured sometime in the very early 2380's...but an exact date eludes me,as does a stardate.

If you are just starting off writing your own Trek stories,it may be a good idea to write about familiar characters for a while.Later on after you're more comfortable writing fiction, you'll be a lot better prepared to create your own unique characters/personalities.

Of course, you DO plan on letting us read your stuff, right?

  10. actually, i find tos corny and not very entertaining. (uh-oh. im going to get kicked off now. lol). i do like the original cast movies though.

my favorite series is tng. it has the best characters and plotlines.

Oh-oh,your bound for hell now.

I would vote TOS,but since that's not an option I'll take Deep Space 9.

  11. I For One Don't Care To Get Into A Wrestler's Personal Life...I Know Bret Got All "Crazy" And What Not, But I Enjoyed Seeing Him Wrestle, That Was The Main Thing For Me.

The wrestling is the main thing for me,too.

I just thought he was a jerk for acting the way he did toward his American fans.Do you remember when they were doing that whole stupid USA Vs Canada feud?Bret went out on the WWF's international tour and insulted and mocked and belittled American wrestling fans, and the United States. He was a creep in Little Rock, and that wasn't any scripted anti-American sentiment. That was all Bret.Even Owen seemed offended.

Since then I've become sort of hyper-sensitive to anything he says or does (I'll occasionally check out his articles in the Calgary Sun,just for laughs...can't believe he's still hung up over the title loss).

  12. Commander Tucker

    Okay,if I could have anything....

I wouldn't know how to operate a starship,so that's out.A phaser would be neat, but I couldn't do much with it that wouldn't get me thrown in jail.A replicator would be nice, but how would I replinish it after I'd ordered up 10-star dinners for a month or two?The Holodeck would present the same problems that the starship would.

I guess TUH has something there, afterall,a person being the only thing I could 'operate' without needing an advanced knowledge of 24-th century computer technology and science...

    I'll take Ezri Dax.

  13. My opinion of Brett is based on personal experience, meeting him in Little Rock,in the months just before he jumped to WCW.I took a very young relative to meet him at the wrestler's entrance at an arena, and he was very rude and obnoxious.Maybe he's just polite to Canadians? All I know is is that Owen, who appeared shortly thereafter apologized and was more than considerate enough to talk with all the kids assembled and sign some autographs.

Owen will always be one of the greats in my mind and heart.

As for being betrayed,I'd say Brett's breaking his 20-year commitment to Titan Sports,Inc. and the WWF was a betrayal of the first magnitude, considering he was THE company player at the time.

As for Bret's alleged infidelity.I believe it,and I didn't hear it from Michaels.I heard it from many other sources in a half-dozen different wrestling magazines,on-line,and from other wrestling fans I know.

I'll never change my opinion on Bret.

  14. I am a Wrasslin' fan.Always have been, always will be.Just lately,oh,for the past few years I've been a little disappointed in the crap the WWE churns out ad nauseum, and calls "sports entertainment"(Man,I HATE that term),but I still keep up with the sport.

I've seen a lot of great wrestlers in my time as a fan.Idolized some, thought well of some, didn't care for some, hated some. And one of the guys I hate the most is that pink and black wearing, greasy haired, whining Calgary native Brett Hart!

Want 10 reasons why I hate him?Okay, here ya go...

    #1 Because he's Brett Hart

    #2-#10 (see my first reason!)

The man is a gifted technical wrestler,no doubt about it.But the only reason he ever became world champion was because he happened to get a push when the WWF was bereft (thanks to WCW) of big name stars to challenge him.Does any wrestling fan here really believe Hart could have beaten Sting?Hogan?A healthy Ric Flaire?(when they wrestled for the title,Flaire was battling the flu and had a 100-degree temp, according to WWF officials).

And the guy is a crybaby. He's moaned and complained and whined every moment of everyday about being shafted out of the world title by Vince McMahon.I hate to have to be the one to tell Brett, but McMahon ownes the WWF and the title belt!If he decides that its time to crown a new champ, guess what?ITS TIME TO CROWN A NEW CHAMP.Do other wrestlers kick up a hissy fit when they drop a title? No.Be a man Brett....oh,wait,I forgot. You cheated on your wife, and betrayed her and your children to sleep around with former WWF Diva Sunny. You don't know how to be a man.

Your little brother was everything you weren't.A great wrestler,a wonderful ambassador for the sport,a devoted husband and family man (who had saved every penny to build his wife a dream house back home in Canada),and appreciative of all of the opportunities Vince McMahon and the sport of wrestling provided him with.Never once did you hear Owen utter a complaint about anything. He just went out and did his job,and the fans loved him.Even when he was a heel,we respected him.But not you,Brett.Your a loser.

  15. While The Original Trilogy Does Hold A High Place For Me, I Do Indeed Love The New Ones Too....And AOTC Is Soooooo Much Better Than TPM....If Ya Don't Mind Anakin's And Padme's Lame Love Scenes

The Original Trilogy Is Said To be Released on DVD some time after Episode III  Is Out.

I Can't Wait To Watch All 6 Together

And In Episode III...Anakin Gets To become The Excelence Of Execution On The Jedi

    Oh,man another Hitman hart reference!!!!

Look,if you feel the need to idolize a Canadian wrestler,at least make sure the guy is worthy of your hero worship....

    Like this guy,for instance...

As for Star Wars.I loved the original trilogy (even more once I saw the restored and expanded films),and I've enjoyed the first 2 episodes to a somewhat lesser degree, but am dying to see the final installment of George Lucas's saga.
