1. We could come to find out that Reed is a member of Section 31 and has been so for some time. We know some of his background but correct me if I'm wrong, they have kept a lot of his past somewhat of a mystery. Remember the episode from season 1 where it was his birthday?

I think I'll be a little surprised if we see Section 31 but I wouldn't be shocked.

Seems like Reed's involvement with a shadowy organisation has been revealed recently..

Yeah, but the cool thing was that VBG made that prediction in April of 2003. Wow, that was a good call. If I endorsed gambpling I'd say quick go and buy a lottery ticket!

I had forgotten about that post lol Glad to see I was right though.

I love the thought of Section 31 being on Enterprise. Makes me wonder who was a member on TOS. Kirk may have been a member since he did steal a Romulan cloaking device in "The Enterprise Incident".

There was a Pocket Books novel about just that event, which came out a handful of years ago, part of another Pocket ST series involving S-31-which included both Voyager, and DS9 seperate series tales.....I too have mixed thoughts, as have others, about the supersecret(but not so unknown) organization. Many are intrigued with intruigue..and noone does that better than people like Sloan, or Harris...but they do get 'their hands dirty'....

  2. I remember that one, as well. A unique ep. Curiously, I just saw a movie with Craig Wasson in it last weekend, ''Last Stop'' or something, starring Scott Glenn as a rougue CIA 'marksman', who goes off the reservation, to kill someone he felt betrayed him....Craig was a writer who got caught up in it all...

  3. I would think that, given the conflux over the first film-not a critique, just an observation, obvious there...I do rather wonder how a 'Khan remake' would be received-and I put that in a colloquial way, as this is an alternate reality...where J.J. and co. feel 'anything could happen'-my words...it could be interesting, even exciting, yes...I can see Young Jim really get down in the dirt with Khan here, no holds barred..intense, in the way I would think this earlier version-not that the Jim we have long known could not do whatever he had to..just a certain intensity of youth...and one would think, an equal ferocity from Khan...who's not exiled, with the whole galaxy, he believes, at his fingertips...I would imagine they'd have this nearer-to TOS battle royale in the flesh...now that would be a fight to see...and what kind of ship would Khan get THIS time...?

  4. Re TOS, and my colleague VBG's previous reference about the re-considered ratings standards, I am suprised, but pleased, to hear that the numbers were in truth much better than previously thought..if alternately thinking, well..what could have been. As Brent Spiner himself said , ''that's why they call it show business''...and people like ourselves, who love these series sometimes feel like we are on the outside looking in. Whatever the cause, the point is, that , well, Enterprise didn't get its chance to prove what it could do...and, heck...don't some say, that for ex, TNG didn't hit its stride, until Season Three or so...?As VBG said, as well, it was doing something in that last year...not that I did not have eps I liked before then. I liked the addition of people like Judy and Gar Reeves-Stevens, who cut their eye teeth on writing ST novels, several of which I own. like ''Federation''-which has tie-ins to pre-STE...and the Shatner books. I think they understood elements that made Star Trek work, as well as Manny Coto, who all brought the taste of 'Classic'(And it willl ever be, of course) as it used to be called-a still-good-monicker, in some ways-to one of my always-favorite series-Trek...

  5. I think I saw most of the first episode, shortly after that the writers strike hit and no new shows were made. After that I basically forgot it existed. I also got into that show Life, I have no idea if it's still running or not.
To briefly diverge, to VBG...sorry, bro...'Life' was cancelled, I hear. Too bad. I liked it, as well, and have seen a number of eps...I will say as to the main subject, Van Roy certainly has put out a lot of thoughtful analysis...in whatever case, I empathize with Jameron's being upset, at the cancelation of his other fave show. Sci-fi has had mixed success on TV....noteable exceptions such as a personal fave, '''X-Files,'' or BSG reimagined....oh, and this little franchise called, what was it....Star Trek...heh heh...

  6. Constantly being made fun of by others....all the time...:rantoff: >_<
Don't let da buggers get ya down, PL! You go on, and be yourself. I know it's tough, to ignore those 'slings and arrows'..but the person those people are only hurting themselves in the end, for being cruel, and hurtful. You remember, you're always welcome here....
