  1. I actually never thought about rubbing Picard's head but now that you mention it, I think it WOULD be good luck. How could it not be?

Of course you'd have to be pretty lucky just to have access to Picard's head, so by the time you got there you wouldn't need more luck. Unless you used it all up getting there. In which case, I would ask first. And he would probably say no since I had used up all my luck. Oh well. Good thing I'm not superstitious.

  2. This is an interesting question. It forces one to ponder two things:

First, what episodes were good enough to be made into movies.

Second, which of these episodes have enough possible backstory to be fill up two and a half hours of movie watching.

Well I can't really pick a two-parter because they already are movies (at least as far as running time)

How about "Yesterday's Enterprise" that was a good one. The movie would of course have way more ultra-cool visuals of the ENT-C battling the Romulans.

Conspiracy is a good one too.

  3. He was also very inefficient in explaining to the Captain what was going on on a planet or beam down. Always 'YOU SHOULD SEE THIS' OR ' THERE'S SOMEWHERE HERE YOU SHOULD MEET' or what ever.

Geordi does that too. I watched an episode today and Geordi said "You'd better get down here right away. I think there's something you should see." He wanted to show him how the DNA fragments on various worlds created a program. While this is ground-breaking, if Picard had known what Geordi was going to show him he might have said: "So download it to a datapad and get THE HELL to the bridge!"

I didn't notice the hell thing in that ep, but Riker does tend to say it more than other crew members especially in the early seasons.

  4. Except for the 180-part storylines and the cheesey Nazi ending, I LOVE ENTERPRISE! Does anyone know if they are still thinking of cancelling it? Is it safe yet? I don't think I can survive without some form of Star Trek to watch in the fall.

  5. Original enterprise. Lots of red, lots of angles. Blinking lights, computer keyboards, a-track tapes. Plus it had that satelite dish on the front of it. Classic. All the others wish they could be that retro. :frusty:

  6. what about chicken pot pie and coconut cream?

Those are good pies. What's the deal with apple? Is it really that fab?

Oh and I think meat and sweet potato should go in a different category than strawberry and apple. It's worse than comparing apples and oranges, we're now comparing apples and beef.

  7. . The worst example of Spineless T'Pol wasn't even physical.  It was in "Twilight," where our damsel-in-distress tried to command the Enterprise and subsequently allowed Trip to be insubordinate as all get-out, not to mention letting the crew, the ship, and the mission go to hell in a shuttlepod.

This is exactly what I'm talking about. T'pol is at best a little weak (mentally and physically) for a Vulcan, and at worst perpetuating a negative female stereotype. She better start neck-pinching and otherwise kicking butt soon.

  8. It depends really. I love the andorian episodes and would like to see more of them, but sometimes when they have regular character they end up recycling the same theme over and over and over again (like the Dominion on DS9, or the Suliban on ENT). I know some people will disagree with me but they would be wrong. Just kidding about that last part.

  9. It's so hard to choose. I picked Spock but it's pretty much a toss up between Spock and Scotty. For one thing Scotty's played by a canadian actor so I thought he should get my patriotic vote, but I enjoy Vulcans. That logic thing is oh so sexy.

  10. If you mean being pushed around like in Chosen Realm, the entire crew was under orders to do nothing except what the captors told them to do.

Chosen Realm is just one example. All the male crewmembers were also under orders to do nothing but we didn't see them getting physically pushed around. And there are other shows where logic is no excuse to be a wimp.

  11. Aren't Vulcans supposed to be stronger than humans? Then why is T'pol always getting pushed around by aliens that even Scott Bacula can beat up? Granted, it might sometimes be logical to refrain from a gratuitous show of brute strength, but her damsel-in-distress routine offends my feminist sensibilities. Where is her Vulcan strength? :) Did anyone else notice this?

  12. I'd just gotten used to them using a contemporary song instead of instrumentals then they go and throw in that cheesey beat.

It's like how sometimes my Dad plays his Country music in the living room and my sister plays rap or R&B from the computer room and my brother plays Women & Songs in his room and I've got the Beatles or something playing upstairs and maybe my Mom's got some opera on. That's how the new mix sounds, like 5 radios playing at the same time.

    :)
