My aunt e-mailed me asking if I could make up a wish list over at Amazon.com :) ... a minute later another e-mail came in saying she found it... I wrote back telling her my 'lists' (well 4 for me and one for my son) had been there a while... one is for Star Trek only -
so she got me "DeForest Kelley: A Harvest of Memories : My Life and Times With a Remarkable Gentleman Actor" and I promptly started in reading it...
-
I too, believe she is with Gene... along with De, James, Mark, and the others...
Peaceful rest.

*watches the queen's torso sail over her head into the Guardian*

I am ranked as a Commander . . .

There is nothing wrong with having autographed pics on the wall . . . Star Trek or otherwise . . .
I have had/will have my share of pics, autographed pics, posters, and bumper stickers up on my door.
I was a considered a weirdo in school - I didn't need to love Star Trek to be labeled that way . . .
My dear hubby is very tolerant of my hobby - I enjoy his hobby - not many girls do - I grew up with dad being a gunsmith.

Goody ! Now I can preserve and seal up my comic books . . .
What? Yes, a grown woman still collects comic books . . . and horses (Breyer), and Hot Wheels, and Matchbox, and what ever else I get a hold of that has caught my fancy! But I draw the line at only one hubby . . .

*Watches calender* I soooo want to be there ! -
I'm the only Trek junkie in my family . . . :(
I am the crazy auntie who owns two pugs that you were warned about as a child !
You needed the option 'I treat everyone like family'

Cute! Something to drive us up the wall . . . *Vroom, Vroom*
I have a few links for ya . . . want 'em?

Another child of 1962 . . . when Kennedy was telling the Soviets to get their missiles out of Cuba.
I watched some LIS . . . it was silly and Doctor Smith had a yellow streak up his back a mile wide but was always out for his self . . . the aliens were childish?
The beauty of TOS was you could feel that it could be that way with things that could actually be developed to work. To question ourselves and what is out there . . . not just as entertainment.

I would think they were an experiment. But all things mechanical and electronic do break down. The suits would be more dependable because if your belt were to quit . . . Pfft ! and you're gone! Of corse I consider the TOS and TAS episodes to be the the way the 23rd centuray Earth media would handle the exploits of 'Kirk and his loyal crew' with all of the really Top Secret stuff pulled out of the records by Star Fleet. That is the reason 'Spock's Brain' is sooooo lame - all the real goodies got removed by Star Fleet !

Egads there are some young people here! I was 9 (10?) when it was aired. Yes, I watched it everytime it was on !! I also purchased an animated cell when they had the ads inside some of the Paocket Books just as the writers were really beginning to crank them out. Alan Dean Foster also had some books out on the series. I still watch them whenever I can catch them on TV !
I'm 45 BTW . . .

I've re-read the thread (I'm a poet and didn't know it) . . . I know; I hear the groans clear over here . . .
Did you know that the cartoons were shown with feature films with mostly adult audiences? Watch some of the old Betty Boop and you'll see what I mean. As for the cartoons made for kids . . . some were top quality as for the story and some even for the animation. Who says cartoons are ONLY for kids? I confess I watch 'em. I remember The cartoon 'The New Adventures of Gilligan' and and another live action Saturday morning show where Bob Denver launches his buddy and he into space (Far Out Space Nuts). Anyone for 'Land of the Lost'? With the dinosaurs and the Sleezaks. Whut? There are some cartoons now on I wouldn't give 2 cents for a whole stack of DVDs. Anyone catch some of the moronic crud on Adult Swim? There are some good ones out too and I enjoy seeing them with my seven year old son. It gives me a chance to correct his perceptions and see how kids view them. Next time ST:TAS is on, I'll watch them with him. A mom has to know what her child watches doesn't she? He's also a good excuse to play with some of the neat toys I wish was available when I was little.

Nope. I am me and I have my husband and son. I have my problems but I'll live.

I found this in Yahoo: No pictures, sorry. Is this the same guy?? Probably not. I have no idea who this Harry Mudd is anyway. <_<
" Major Mudd was an astronaut, that was supposed to be on a space station. He not only hosted the kid's show, he showed cartoons and had lots of games for the kids in the audience.
Anyone out there have any recollections of WNAC-TV Ch.7's triple-threat Edward T. McDonnell, who hosted the Three Stooges every weekday as "Major Mudd", science fiction movies on Monday (later Saturday) nights as Feep on FANTASMIC FEATURES, and hosted jungle movies Saturday afternoons as Lord Bumblebrook?"
I do not understand what you thought you were reading. Any familiarity with the ST:TOS episodes would give you an indication the episode being asked about is Mudd's Women. Why should we be interested in a Major Mudd ?
Very well and good . . . now can you get on track and look up the Star Trek episode or just go look up Harcourt Fenton Mudd who is a well known, ahem, troublemaker for Kirk and crew . . . I wish a few hundred more Stella's for his 'pleasure'.

I would think someone would have mentioned "Spock's World" by Diane Duane . . .

My initial reaction, based on his being in silhouette was: Futureguy!
Is it just me or does that mysterious figure sound like Brent Spiner?
Watching some things gives me an idea that it is Garth or the alternate universe . . .
If you have watched the first part of "Of Gods and Men" you will see that we were both wrong . . . and it was a surprise to actually see who the bad guy is !! It is . . .

Rate Star Trek (2009)
in JJ Abrams Star Trek '09', Into Darkness, and Beyond Movies
Posted
I rated it a 4. Good movie but needed a bit more 'spit and polish'... Call me an ole die-hard TOS fan but it looks like canon got shifted to a whole different universe...
I did like the fact when he portrayed the horrors in space he did it with silence.
Now I can see why Jim Kirk always had to get out of scrapes...
