  1. 01.09.04 - The Save Star Trek: Enterprise Campaign

In 2003 Star Trek: Enterprise took a new direction inside the Delphic Expanse, with new crew members; a new T'Pol; a very different Trip and a dedicated Archer - but would it work to re-kindle dwindling ratings? Only time and a dedicated team of people would tell.

A dedicated group of people built a website over at www.saveenterprise.com - dedicated to saving the wonderful series. Letter writing, complementary letters to sponsors and the United Paramount Network across the production year was their aim.

But the ratings continued to dwindle, UPN was announcing that it was going to axe the series - and with the gaming side of Trek non-existant and the latest movie - Star Trek: Nemesis - not received well in the cinemas - it looked like the series was going to go.

But at the press party - where the television networks release their fall line-up - UPN announced Star Trek: Enterprise season 4, to the delight of many fans. But rumours continued of the series demise, with the price for an episode dropped from a reported $US1.8 million to a reported $US900, 000.

Also Rick Berman one of the two 'show runners' dropped from his position to deal with the more day-to-day running of the show, while Manny Coto stepped up to become an Executive Producer, show runner and chief writer. Hopefully this change of crew would assist the series.

It looks like it worked, as Manny has already radicly altered the series to fall more in line with The Original Series and beyond - established Trek lore. Manny Coto is well received by TREKZONE.org amongst other fans.

We will keep you up-to-date with the latest on the save Enterprise campaign because as a special supporter of the campaign TREKZONE.org is running point here in Australia to establish a television commercial appearence by the campaign, firstly on community television here in Western Australia then moving onto the rest of the country as monetry funds increase. So stay tuned to this page!

The Save Star Trek: Enterprise trailers to the left are our tribute to the series, using footage inspired by and the backing track of a recent STARTREK.COM feature on their site - "To Boldly Go...". We make no claim to this music or its recorded voice over, it is purely STARTREK.COM material.

The season 3 preview video promo and the season 1 preview promo's are sourced from STARTREK.COM but have been placed on our server as we do not condone leeching of material. They are purely from STARTREK.COM and are copied in their entirety. They are for promotional purposes only. These will be added on November 1 2004 - we dont want to spoil all the fun at once!

    NEWS:

    24 OCTOBER 2004:

We have added this page and its link into the home division's navigation, also now on-line are the three (3) versions of the trailers that Starliner Productions have made for airing on (firstly) community television here in Western Australia - then onto the continent. Also available is the brief synopsis of the Save Enterprise campaign. Some material has been inspired by STARTREK.COM and we rightfully disclaim that it is not our work nor are we releasing it as such.

  2. as of today i have 4 school days of secondary school left ever!!!! i know im going to graduate because i have got 2 "A"'s and 3 "C"'s confirmed (A=best, B=good, C=meh).

From Friday the 29th of October 2004 i will be free, until the 20th of January 2005 when i will find out if i got into my film & tele tertiary course....if not ill do something....

    whadda think...?

  3. surprisingly, for me more than anything, i love more than one of the above and then some. i enjoy bands from Hoobastank to Kiss, Maroon 5 to Midnight Oil and the list goes on..

  4. its not possible to play Trek all day everyday without ads....it would be too costly - im trying to get a free to air sci-fi channel over here in Australia, broadcast across the continent like the States. cause here in aus our tv stations broadcast a program at 10:00pm in the east and then 10:00pm in the west..

  5. Tripp/T'pol: I think this is one of the worst subplot ideas that I've seen in Star Trek.  The physical relationship is  completely inappropriate and I think it hurts the show overall. I had hoped it would have been dropped by the 4th season but recent reports don't indicate this. Btw if T'Pol joins Star Fleet  I think the show may lose a few more fans.

This is one thing that I agree with, it should go.

Temporal coldwar: I'm honestly tired of all the time travel. I don't mind a little time travel but to have a whole ongoing story arc centered around it is a bit much, I hope it is concluded soon.

It is, the season 4 premiere reportedly wraps up the arc.

Klingons: I like the Klingons but  I think they should be used more sparingly.

The Klingons are there, I believe so that the Organian Peace Treaty (pre-TOS?) actually can take place, the Klingons are peeved at humans because of Archer, hence leading to a possible war.

    Suliban. Please.... No more

The season four openers see the end of the Suliban too.

Plotlines that should be added (imo)

I would like to see more interaction with the Tellarites. I would also like to see Gorns, Orions and a Romulan vessel minus the cloaking device.  Maybe we should go deeper into Vulcan society?  Or amaybe... perhaps they should get back to exporing the galaxy.

    Romulans maybe not until TOS....

    others, maybe..

T'Pols drug use:  T'Pol through her actions got several people killed and should not be 2nd in command of the ship. Her actions should be revealed in some way and she should face punishment. Phlox should face some consequences for  covering it up also.  You have noticed that I'm not a T'Pol fan... Maybe her character should... expire.

T'Pol is on Enterprise for the same reason that 7 of 9 joined Voyager, sex appeal. She stays, also i think occ health and saftey need to review the Trellium-D usage.

  6. 12, i remember late nights where my folks watched taped TNG episodes, but they were too scary for me....then i realised that if i snuck out.....then i got hooked, by about season 6 of DS9 i was regularly watching it...
