Gene Roddenberry will be inducted into the Television Academy’s Hall of Fame in January along with comedy duo Tom and Dick Smothers and actress Candice Bergen.

 

The annual ceremony will be joined by Saturday Night Live and game show announcer Don Pardo, The Price is Right game show creator Bob Stewart and Emmy-award winning art director Charles Lisanby.

It's about time that Gene Roddenberry was recognized for his contributions to television history.

It took me a while to decide how to respond to the news of Joe's death from Lupus. A very close and dear friend died from Lupus and it effected me deeply.

She and Joe were alike in some ways, she too was a fan, they both had a great sense of humor and refused to let the disease that was slowly taking their lives make them sullen, angry or bitter but enjoy the time they had with us. I am sorry that I didn't get to know Joe better but from our few chats and his posts both serious and humorous I always thought that he was a good person and was mature beyond his very limited years. I know a lot of what he went through because as I said a person very close to me died from Lupus. I hope that his family and friends can take solace in that Joe is no longer in suffering physically, mentally and emotionally.

Smooth sailing Joe, you showed strength, humor, class and maturity in your way too short time with us and that from me is the highest compliment.

Where is the Enterprise?? It deserves to be represented as much if more than Darth Vader. Oh and it should be "NCC-1701. No bloody A, B, C, or D. "Capt. Montgomery Scott "Relics"

I drink occasionally but haven't been truly drunk in over 20 years. From years of watching my family members and people in general and how they acted when drunk I got to the point of barely touching the stuff.

Since it's now 0 dark 30 and I can't sleep I am listening to Coast To Coast Am with George Noory

Now that I have seen the 3rd episode (4th if you count the premiere as 2 episodes) I see improvement in the show and it is showing potential. It still needs to get further from it's Battlestar Galactica roots and go more toward Stargate in order to survive and truly be part of the Stargate franchise.

Stuffed pork chops, home-made baked beans, white corn and broccoli. For desert an apple dumpling.

For me it is a tie for the best ship. For just sheer love of the ship the Enterprise NCC-1701 is the best, in a butt kicking firefight I would want the Defiant.

I'll be taking the Road Runner out if it doesn't rain.

I'm hoping that this show gets a lot better, right now it's Stargate Galactica. This newest incarnation of the Stargate franchise seems like Battlestar Galactica (the re-imagined soap opera not the real one) wearing a Stargate mask.

In celebration of the 50Th anniversary of the classic TV series, The Twilight Zone, George will speak with author Marc Zicree, actor/musician Bill Mumy, Anne Serling, writer Earl Hamner Jr., and William Shatner (in a taped segment). The latter half of the show will feature Open Lines.

Tonight (10-2) for those that are fans of The Twilight Zone and are night owls this should be a good show. If you don't stay up late enough for this show (1 AM EDT - 10 PM PDT) you can record the internet audio stream from many of the show's affiliates web sites.

This is also the anniversary of the premiere of Alfred Hitchcock Presents.

I buy the low salt Spam rinse off the jelly, fry it crispy it makes a great sandwich. I also like to cut it into cubes and fry it then add pineapple chunks and some broccoli to the frying pan and stir fry them till the pineapple gets to a golden color, add in the pineapple juice and some soy sauce. It's great over rice.

Great idea on somebody's part, a low budget remake of one of the worst movies ever made. Bet it goes from the Wal-Mart $5 bin to the dollar store video collection in 6 months.........tops.
