I know some female fans whose Spock fantasies were just crushed, on the other hand I know of a few male fans whose Spock fantasies were just reinforced. The slash fans will be going wild with this news.

If this is anything like Shatner's past singing endeavors people will be running to the doctor's office to have their hearing checked. Fans will buy it just because it is Shatner not because they think it will be good.
-
All of this feud business just garners publicity for Shatner and Takei and their respective careers. The feud keeps them in the consciousness of the fans and for that matter non-fans and helps fuel book sales and television ratings.

Invisible Invaders, pure 1950's B movies bad.

When Seven of Nine came is when the show went down hill for me. She was great for over active hormones, I how ever liked Kes's character better.
If they put Jennifer Lien in a cat-suit and heels it would have been great for hormones too.

It seems hard to believe that 35 years have passed since NASA unveiled the space shuttle Enterprise. I am starting to feel really old right now.
Thirty-five years ago today (Sept. 17), Americans got their first good look at a spaceship that would become a national icon.On Sept. 17, 1976, NASA's prototype space shuttle Enterprise was rolled out of its assembly facility in Southern California and displayed before a crowd several thousand strong. Though Enterprise was a test vehicle that never reached space, its completion in some ways marked the true beginning of the space shuttle era.
Various dignitaries were on hand to mark the occasion, including many castmembers from the original "Star Trek" television series, which had debuted 10 years earlier (the 45th anniversary of "Star Trek" was last week). Their presence was appropriate, as the prototype shuttle took its name from the sleek starship commanded by the fictional Captain James Tiberius Kirk.

Yes it was 45 years ago today that the best television science fiction series was first aired. I remember anxiously waiting for Star Trek after seeing the promotion commercials over the summer. It was worth the wait because I was not disappointed in what I saw. September 8, 1966 "warped" my young mind forever.
Thank you Gene!!!!!!

This is the first interview with Bjo I have seen where she credits John this much for the letter writing campaign. I have seen her at conventions and she didn't mention his contributions much then either.
-
I wonder if this will be like his last retirement announcement. This one. After his last one he apparently received some offers for convention appearances and acting jobs that he accepted over the last 16 months.

Is there any depth to which CBS/Paramount and Creation won't go to in order to wring more money out of fans? I doubt that the economy has seriously effected their take from the Vegas Con much.

I'd seen all 5 Trek Series and 11 Films ST:TNG sort of had one and ST:DS9 Dax (Jadzia and some other Female Character)so It be interesting if they were to add one in the second one in what form it might be in? but most of the time it's just Business not much time at all for any socializing.
Apparently I saw different Star Trek series and movies than you did. I recall crew members in 10 Forward, Quark's bar, in the lounge area socializing and eating in TOS and crew members eating and socializing aboard Voyager in the mess hall. Showing a gay character should not be highlighted or treated any differently than showing blacks, asians or women as crew members or in positions of authority or responsibility. In the Star Trek reboot movie Kirk had time to mess around with a woman and so did Spock.
If you consider the time frame of the "reboot" movies having a gay crew member should not be anything out of the norm since other species are common and accepted as ordinary and part of the norm as a gay crew member should also be.

If they want to have a gay character in the next Star Trek movie they need to just show the character doing his or her job and being their regular self that happens to be gay. It does not need to be pointed out or any reference made to the fact that the character is gay. An idea would be to show a group of characters in a lounge area having a meal and as one of them gets up to leave to report for duty have him or her give a quick kiss to his or her partner and move on with it. The other crew members need to have no reaction to it and just move on to the next scene. Another idea would be to have him or her have a picture of him or her with their partner on display in their quarters.

I can do without the 3-D movie headache.

He's just mad that Shatner made a career for himself after Trek and he was relegated mainly to guest appearances on TV, regional dinner theater and a couple of direct to video movies. Koenig's career as an author and screenwriter didn't do too well either.

A season 2 episode of The Invaders called Dark Outpost.
-
Star Trek TOS, TAS and Enterprise used to be streamed for free on the CBS website with commercials. I guess anything to milk more money from the Star Trek cash cow.

The original 3 American Pie movies were great, they were mindless entertainment with no pretensions of being high art. The direct to DVD movies deserved to go to the reject bin at Dollar Tree. I can hardly wait for the next batch of "Stifflerspeak", the combining of 2 totally unrelated things, one clean and one dirty into hilarious high speed cursing was creative.
Jennifer Coolidge is not a MILF, she is a SUPER MILF.

I didn't like the movie when it came out and time hasn't changed my opinion.

A group of 4 female Johns Hopkins University students jogging on the street in front of my house. There is a sad part to this though, I realized as I was watching them jog that I am old enough to be the father of any of those girls and might be older than their fathers.

Black coffee.... and not that decaffeinated swill.

The Defiant class all the way. The Defiant was a nasty little gun platform that was highly maneuverable and could slug it out with the best of them. The Defiant class has sleek classic lines like a 1960's sports car.

Congratulations Seal Team 6, job well done.

I am feeling a bit down so I wanted to watch something that would give me a good laugh...... Destroy All Monsters, one of the worst Godzilla movies ever made. It is so bad that it is funny.
