  1. STAR TREK VEGAS:

    MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT CONCERNING

    STAR TREK: THE EXPERIENCE

We wanted to share the unfortunate news that "Star Trek: The Experience" is ending its 11-year run at the Las Vegas Hilton on Sept. 1, right after The Official STAR TREK CONVENTION (August 6 to 10, 2008).

Since 1988, millions of fans have enjoyed the wonderful job that The Experience did in presenting a live Star Trek Universe. The employees there were extremely dedicated to their passion of providing a great time for their visitors. We are certainly going to miss having The Experience as part of our convention parties.

In sharing this message we wanted to let folks know that Star Trek: The Experience will be fully up and running throughout this year's convention and for those that want to see it before it closes (an absolute must for Trekkers) or raise a glass one last time in Quark's bar, now is the time to make your plans to be with us for the convention too. We have one party at The Experience still open for tickets on Friday night: be with us as we celebrate the 11 year run of The Experience with dinner, entertainment and complimentary themed rides. Click here to get yourself set for the very last party we'll have at The Experience!

Or, come to the convention and pop into Star Trek: The Experience anytime during our five days! CLICK HERE FOR FULL INFORMATION ON THE OFFICIAL STAR TREK CONVENTION in LAS VEGAS! With over 8,000 tickets sold to date we're on our way to one of the biggest STAR TREK gatherings ever and we expect with this news more fans will come aboard to say goodbye to The Experience!

For those that have asked, the closure of The Experience does not affect the future of the convention. We already have 2009 booked and ready to go to celebrate 40 plus years of STAR TREK and, of course, the new huge feature STAR TREK film which will be opening shortly before the convention. In 2009, STAR TREK takes its rightful place back on the top of worldwide pop culture and the convention should reflect all of the added excitement of a blockbuster hit feature film. Of all the entertainment franchises that exists we truly believe that STAR TREK, with its positive message of acceptance of diversity and hope for a positive future, is the most important and meaningful.

    Thanks,

Your "we'll raise a glass to toast the memories we made at Star Trek: The Experience" friends

  2. Just curious: what happened to the new rating?

New rating? The 'Great Bird of the Galaxy' Trivia rank? It's there..Looks like we still have you in the 'Special Guest' group..Would you like that changed to the 'Great Bird of the Galaxy' group?

OK David..I see what you mean..The top rank now shows as Super Q in the Total Points thread..I'll change it back..

  6. Yeah, this weighs on my mind alot because of the way my home looks.OK, hypothetical situation..--Suppose you were dating someone you really liked..When you finally saw his or her home there were autographed Trek pics everywhere..Would it be a turn off or would you be OK with it?

  8. No, I never a haircut because of the weather..And getting my hair cut these days would be scary.. B) Although it might be worth it to see the look on the barber's face when I walk thru the door.. :)

Well, I didn't think I would ever have my hair cut..But I did..wasn't because of the weather though..I blame my job working in a clean room..And yeah, the look on the barber's face was priceless.. :yahoo:

  9. I have an issue... one of the questions requires adding an attachment to a private message, but I can't find out how to do that. Any suggestions? I'd email an attachment, but I don't know WishfireOmega's email address, and the StarTrekFans.net email doesn't seem to allow attachments either. Anybody offer some help?

Is the attachment a picture? I'm pretty sure you can include a pic in a PM to WishfireOmega..Can you?

  10. Remember, everyone, you only have the rest of today and tomorrow to send in your answers, as I'm posting results on Saturday.

Well, it's sunday night, so something unexpected must have happened to keep you from closing out your questions..We'll wait another day before we close out the questions and post next weeks..You cool with that Smith?

  11. Bought these CDs today..

Fleetwood Mac: Rumours -- Such a great album..Never did buy the CD when I converted from cassette..I have fond memories of listening to this when it came out while I was a senior in High School..

Tom Petty: Wildflowers -- I'm crazy about Tom Petty's music..He's done so many wonderful songs..You may laugh but the reason I bought this CD was for the song 'You Don't Know How It Feels'..I like the song alot and it isn't on his greatest hits CD..Although I think that's the next one I buy..Luckily the rest of the 'Wildflowers' CD sounds good too..

Robert Plant and Alison Krauss: Raising Sand -- Wasn't sure what to expect from this CD..I'm a big fan of Led Zeppelin and therefore of Robert Plant..Always liked his singing but unsure what this CD was like since Alison Krauss is a bluegrass queen..It is quite different than what I usually listen to..But I've listened to it twice now and I really like it..They sound good singing songs by themselves and together..
