It's not my week for trivia, that's next week, but I volunteer to post trivia questions today. It may be late afternoon when I do post them, however, my new job has me working 11 pm to 7:30 am so I'm going to get some sleep soon.

That's great if you want to do that..We can re-adjust the schedule again if needed..

We may be taking a week off from Trivia. It's Smith's week and he hasn't posted questions yet or been seen here in awhile..I have messages out to him..Perhaps something unexpected happened to keep him away..Anyway, unless he posts questions today or tomorrow, there probably won't be any trivia on the board this week..

For those that have asked, the closure of The Experience does not affect the future of the convention. We already have 2009 booked and ready to go to celebrate 40 plus years of STAR TREK and, of course, the new huge feature STAR TREK film which will be opening shortly before the convention. In 2009, STAR TREK takes its rightful place back on the top of worldwide pop culture and the convention should reflect all of the added excitement of a blockbuster hit feature film. Of all the entertainment franchises that exists we truly believe that STAR TREK, with its positive message of acceptance of diversity and hope for a positive future, is the most important and meaningful.

I was thinking that too, but got busy and forgot to add it.

 

If anyone is interested in being a Guest Trivia Host for one or all of rob39874 sessions for the month of August please post saying so here or on this thread.

 

(I see the first week in Aug is yours Derek, you may want to have questions ready for that week just in case no one volunteers.)

 

Of course SpaceTigger might object to changing the plan now that's he has already adjusted the schedules. If it is a problem ST just say so and we'll leave it as is.

Hey, I was wondering, could we put topics to be pinned in other forums to draw attention to trivia? Or perhaps do some sort of trivia-related contests? It would be great to get more people interested in trivia.

One way that you could draw attention is to post reminders during your week in the Trivia forum. That way it'll show up in the 'New Posts' and will hopefully get read and remind members to check out the trivia questions..A Trivia contest might be cool too..Have to think of what kind of a contest would be good..Any ideas?

There are several places that I would like to see..But I'm a realist, I know I never will..anyway, here's my list..

Grand Canyon, Mount Rushmore, Golden Gate Bridge, Hawaii, Caledesi Island (Near Clearwater, Florida. Been there once and it's beautiful), The Alamo

Ocala, Florida

 

Not one of the greater metropolises in our fair state - nice forest.

I did like it there though..My family moved there when I was 10 years old..We stayed for a year and a half before we moved back to Massachusetts..

They probably already booked the convention for 2009 before they found out this was the last year for 'The Experience'. I can see them moving the convention closer to the strip, but I wouldn't want to see the convention move away from Vegas..
