    Colorado deputy clocks VW Beetle at 115 mph

     

    LITTLETON, Colo. -A 27-year-old man was being held on $10,000 bond in the Arapahoe County Jail after allegedly speeding up Interstate 25 in a Volkswagen Beetle. An Arapahoe County sheriff's deputy arrested the man on Monday after the deputy said he was clocked driving 115 mph.

    The deputy attempted to pull over the vehicle, but said he abandoned the pursuit when the driver wouldn't stop. The deputy found the VW crashed on an offramp a few minutes later and saw the suspected driver running through a nearby parking lot.

    The man and a passenger were taken to a hospital to be examined but were released with no injuries.

    The man was booked into jail on suspicion of driving under the influence, driving under restraint, reckless driving and vehicular eluding.

     

    That was just Space Tigger in a hurry to move to Arizona......... :roflmao:

    Actually my Beetle is at the dealers today..My spedometer hasn't worked in awhile so I don't know how fast I've gotten it up to.. :rolleyes:

    I'd be in heaven. I wouldn't want to leave

    Perhaps that's why I spend so much time in my home..At times I still do think it's a bit wierd to have all this Trek stuff around..And recently I took much of it down and packed it away..But it was too strange..It certainly wasn't me so I put alot of it back up..It's not like many people come here anyway..It's just me here and I'm a firm believer that your home should be your sanctuary..I've always felt that you should surround yourself with love in your home..

    The last thing I will ever buy from 'The Experience' is an Enterprise E model / replica that I bought while the convention was going on..I have it displayed in my kitchen now..So sad that this wonderful place is shutting down...I can't imagine what next years Vegas convention is going to be llike without The Experience and Quarks to go to..cry.gif

    Yay! You're SpaceTigger again! It took me almost two weeks to figure out that you were SpaceTigger after I came back. I remember LOVING your old avatar, too. (and yes I had noticed your trivia rank way before I was certain it was you).

    Trivia Changes

     

    In an attempt to simplify and take some pressure off of everyone, there are some changes that are going to be implemented from now on..Feel free to send me a PM if you dis-aggree or have some input you want to share..or if you want to step down as a Trivia Leader.

     

    There will be no more shuffling the schedule so we can cover for each other. If you can't post trivia questions on your week, then there just will be no trivia on the board that week..that's all..

     

    Week 1 -- MrPsychic

    Week 2 -- Kered

    Week 3 -- Eratosthenes

    Week 4 -- rob39874

     

    Eratosthenes will be taking Smith's spot in the rotation as a Trivia Leader..Next time around, not this week, it's already thursday..Congrats..It has also occurred to me that some months have 5 weeks in it..Like this October..I'm sure when it happens you will all know that the next person in line asks questions..and continue from there..

    Updated the Trivia Schedule a bit.. We also may need someone to fill in for Smith as I haven't seen or heard from him in awhile..Anyone interested in asking trivia questions those weeks if Smith isn't around and can't do it? I know rob is out for the month of August but if any of the other Trivia Leaders want to take his week(s), let me know..I'm leaving tuesday morning for the Vegas con and won't be back until sunday, so I'll be unavailable during those times..

     

    Is anybody interested in filling in for Smith this coming week? If you're interested in being a guest Trivia Leader this week, let me know..

    Oh awesome! Having/have fun? That's the only place on Earth I've wanted to be for the past few days, including tomorrow (with the exception of seeing the Olympic opening ceremonies and some of the gold medal finals).

     

    Yeah, I had a great time..Conventions are wonderful things.. :D

    Cool! (and perhaps a Lt. JG rank could be made?)

    When MQ made the trivia ranks he decided not to include the rank of Lt. JG..I really don't think it's a neccesary addition now..We have Lt. and Lt. Commander as trivia ranks..That should be fine..
