Tee hee... So, while researching Blu Ray players, that also led me to learn about 4k and led me to look at TVs. We do have a flatscreen already that handles HD, but it is on the smaller side - 32 inch - because of the set up we have -we cannot do the larger TVs. I have a smattering of movies that came as set with DVD/Blu Ray/ Digital, with the idea that we would eventually get a Blu Ray player. I too am not ready to give up my DVDs and the player I have also has a built in DVR and can also wrote to DVD, something hard to get now. I know it was startling the difference between the remastered TOS DVDs, so now I must see TNG Blu Rays!
All I need to do now is figure out which Blu Ray player to get. 8-) Thanks again!

Hi Mr.Picard!
Thank you so much for the information! We do not have a Blu Ray player (yeah, we are old and set in our ways... LOL...) But maybe it is time to spring for one. You have given me a lot to think about, and I truly appreciate your taking the time to reply!

Mr.Picard reacted to VaBeachGuy in ADDICTED TO EBAY
I don't buy a lot on eBay, but I've been a seller on there since the late 90's. I've had two different seller accounts on there, the first one from the late 90's to very early 00's kind of got lost to time. I sold a lot of computers that I built, back then but I have no idea what the total dollar amount of sales were. If I were to guess, I'd say probably in the $25,000 to $35,000 range.
On my current seller account, which I've had going since 2002, I just looked up the total dollar amount of sales since then and was blown away by the total amount. Almost $98,000.00. Of course, that's spread out over 18 years worth of selling. In all that time, zero negative feedback, all positive.

Finally got the upgrade completed, after a week and a half of trying. The skin may need some tweaks, so I'll see about that going forward.

Here's the latest rumor (I will treat it as such because the Daily Mail is NOT a reliable source)... I have, however, indeed heard of this somewhere else before, so, it MIGHT actually be true! ^^

Me, too - of course. He does know that quite a few people think he's a more than outstanding actor, and I know that this will comfort him at least to a certain extent... maybe he even laughs about it now that they always ignore him, who knows. lol

Sir Patrick has contributed a postcard to an exhibition on the British county of Cumbria that was hit by the floods last year. Here is what it says:

Oh yes the kilt in Twelfth Night - quite a few people have mentioned this one to me! I was incredibly happy when I finally found a picture! :) I'm glad you enjoyed his performance as Malvolio - he is a brilliant stage actor, no matter what, but he is truly at his best when he's in a Shakespeare play.
I won't be able to make it to Chichester (IF this rumor about him being in that play is true)... I don't have enough money. I did see him last year, so, I'm not that mad about it... but hey, it's always possible I win the lottery and end up going there after all... lol. Trips to England are somewhat expensive, unfortunately.

Mr.Picard got a reaction from DrWho42 in I'm Back
Not sure if anyone's still around but hey, I'm used to shouting into a void. lol
I guess I'm back... this board was one of the first international Trek boards I joined back in the early 2000s and I have many, many fond memories of it. I returned a few years ago but then left again because I lacked the time to keep up properly, but these days I have a job that allows me to start early and leave early so that I have more time for my hobbies.
Anyways. I hope someone reads this... oh and I shall start updating my Sir Patrick topic again. I hope no one minds, heh.

Hi everyone,
since I'm doing this sort of topic thingy on a lot of other boards, I thought why not doing it here as well, here, the first English-speaking Trek message board I registered at when I became a Trek fan... wow, that was a long time ago...
Those of you who remember me probably also remember that I'm a huge fan of Sir Patrick Stewart. I try to know everything about him, which is proving to be a rather challenging task sometimes.
This topic is meant to provide people with Sir-Patrick-related news, new pictures and videos, movie/theater rumors and all (I will mark rumors as such, no worries). Of course it is also meant to be interactive, so, if you have a Sir-Patrick-related question or a comment or whatever, feel free to chime in and I'll try to answer it. I can't guarantee that I'll always have an answer, though. He is a rather fascinating individual with lots and lots of different aspects (which is partly why I like him so much), so, as I said, trying to know all about him is definitely not an easy task.
Anyways... to start this whole thing, I thought I'd provide you with a) a link that points to recent pictures of Sir Patrick AND b ) information about what he's up to at the moment.
a) The recent pictures can be found here. There were taken at OzTrek2, a Star Trek convention in Melbourne, Australia. Sir Patrick attended it on January 30th.
b ) Next week (on Feb 18-21) Sir Patrick is going to perform with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra in their version of Stravinsky's Oedipus Rex. He won't sing, though, he'll "only" narrate. (Pity, isn't it?) More information can be found here. He has also hinted at the fact that he will be back on a theater stage soon, so, he's up to something in that regard as well.
