last year some scientists managed to transport (a laser beam i think it was) a few metres.
also i have read that nanites are becoming a reality

my 4 yr old son has just started watching star trek with me, and he enjoys it immensely. i think adding sex would be unnecessary and spoil it for viewers in his age bracket. one of the good things about trek is that it doesn't need to employ unnecessary violence and sex to be the excellent show that it is.

Q, he's great fun,the actor (john delancie is it?) does an excellent job.

good question, i like statistics too. i don't know off-hand, but i think the best place to look would be towards the end of the last season (seven) -during the dominion war- of ds9. i am sure there were some figures mentioned there to give u an idea.

i loved quark, liked barclay or broccoli (his nickname); neelix is the only character which really grated on my nerves.

i just discovered the tv series andromeda which was based on gene roddenberry's notes and was wondering what people thought of it.

i read somewhere that the british space agency doesn't want to send anymore humans into space (please correct me if i err in this, i have tried to find corroborating evidence but have so far been unsuccessful) so maybe stewart is agreeing with his government's policy.
if there had been a prime directive stopping european nations from colonising Africa, i wonder how Africa would have developed. i believe that exploring is fine, but interference is another thing.
Also: i believe that earth is an environmental disaster zone, and would hate to see humans stuff up another planet in the same way.

i like the fact that a whole universe has been created; and just by using your imagination you can add to it too.

there was a joke once on seinfeld about 2 parter stories on tv. i can't reproduce it very well but shall try.
ur watching a show on tv which normally runs for 30 mins but it's twenty past and benji is no where near solving the mystery and kat still hasn't got her man, at twenty five past u start becoming anxious and then: to be continued... comes up on the screen and you groan.
i always do. i am glad ds9 didn't have so many 2 parters i do however prefer the continuity of ds9 to the more episodic nature of tng and voyager.

what does EMP stand for?

I wonder, where was the Enterprise during the dominion wars.yes i always wondered this myself whilst watching DS9. like others i believed it was a matter of money. the other ideas mentioned sound great, but all hail the mighty dollar.

i'd like to think that Odo made a big impression on the great link and changed the direction of the dominion, from domination to integration with the solids.

sisko who else? :(

i thought dukat was an excellent villain. i didn't like kai winn. i much preferred the first kai, what was her name? Opaka? she was much more believable as the head of a religious order

i have never heard of any of the actors mentioned in the article, but can't imagine anyone else being any where near as good as Avery Brooks. Sisko is my favourite star trek character and I thought Avery Brooks was superb. I wish rascism was a thing of the past, because that's where it belongs.
