  1. I do believe that Voyager had found their home worlds and brought them back.  Happy ending.  I also do believe that it was a voluntary type of thing.  I remember seeing the episode but the details are a little hazy.  Perhaps someone else can give you more details.

ok, I probably missed that episode then.

  2. Ah, there we go! Done and done!

Except, I have one more thing to ask...why bother with the little communicators, then? You'd only need them for away missons...Oh well, I guess both is good.

In my opinion it would only work on the bridge. Every where else you'd have to hit your communicator because what if you're walking through a deck with someone and you say engineering as part of the conversation... wouldn't make sense, thus it would only be practical on the bridge.

  3. I think there is already something in the works so this is purely for fun.

what do you think would make a good upcoming Star Trek series.

Perhaps a show about cadets at the academy, maybe a show taking place in Star Fleet Headquarters? How about a show about a federation ship built purely for combact and tactical use... hell, even an entire show about an alien race i.e. a Kligon ship, Romulan Ship etc

    Discuss :wow:

  4. I have noticed a few times where Picard has asked either Dr. Crusher or Dr. Pulaski if they have been monitoring the conversation on the bridge with no one actually contacting either of them to tell them too.

I noticed the same thing, one of reasons why I started thinking about it.

  5. Okay, I missed a couple of episodes in the last two seasons of Voyager so maybe I just plain missed this, but what the heck happened to the Borg children twins and that little girl. I know Icheb was around until the end, but the other one's just plain disappeared... what happened?

  6. There are a couple. I think I'm one of the only people who didn't mind Wesley, and in fact, I really liked him in the 3rd and 4th Seasons along with his return episodes... though I have to admit he was a tad annoying in the first season. I usually can't stand child actors and Alexander was no different, however, I didn't mind Naomi. I agree that Neelix was too chirpy and just plain annoying to look at, but the most annoying by far, who I cannot believe was not part of the poll was Nog. Once he a became an actual Star Fleet member it wasn't that bad but his prior-cadet episodes were cringe worthy.

  7. a little too non-TNG at times as far as writing (nit picking I guess)

some stupid things like Worf never mentioning anything about Riker and Troi getting married and Wesley showing up for 2 minutes without any lines (wasn't he supposed to be with the the traveller?)

I don't think the writing was non-TNG. John Logan was a huge TNG (and TOS) fan - a self-described Trekkie. He shot down many ideas when the story was being conceived because it would have gone against this episode or that.

I don't think it would have been appropriate for Worf to comment about Riker and Troi getting married. He and Deanna were only together for a few months before he transferred to DS9. Since then he was married and widowed. They both had moved on.

As for Wesley, much of that ended up on the cutting room floor. He did leave with the traveller in Journey's End but a lot of time has gone by since then so I don't think it is too much of a stretch to accept that Wes came back and finished up at the Academy.

Well, I guess I was mistaken in his meaning behind Non-Trek. I was taking it to mean that the other films, as well as this one tries to appeal to both Trek and Non-Trek fans. You know where they have to go back and give the newbies a quick run down on specifics of characters and scenarios.

But, if he truly meant that it was non-trek written, meaning not written to be a trek movie then in that case I do not agree, since Nemesis was most assuredly written as Trek!

no you were right. They did a lot of things in it to try and appeal to non-trek fans that ended up making us trekkies (at least some of us) shake our head. :wow:

  8. This is something I've been wondering about as I re-watch the episodes of TNG on DVD. Every once in awhile on the bridge Riker or Picard will ask or tell something to someone in sickbay or the transporter room without touching their comm badge. For example: Picard will all of a sudden say, "transporter room, beam the ambassador to the ship", without touching his comm badge. Is there always an open channel between the bridge and Sickbay, engineering, and the transporter room? Because sometimes Picard will request something from the transporter chief that wouldn't make a lot of sense to the transporter chief unless he was monitoring the bridge somehow.

  9. I only got to see it once, only got my girl friend out once to it (she isn't big on ST) hehe.

    As for my thoughts.

There were a lot of things I liked, and things I didn't like.

    Like:

The ship battles were some of the best and most realistic (figuretively speaking)

Shinzon was acted very well in my opinion

    A lot of memorable one-liners

    Riker and Troi getting married

Good action scenes, even if some were pointless

Worf finally acknowleding that Romulans fought with honor

    Dislike:

    Data dying... horrible decision

    needed more romulans

a little too non-TNG at times as far as writing (nit picking I guess)

some stupid things like Worf never mentioning anything about Riker and Troi getting married and Wesley showing up for 2 minutes without any lines (wasn't he supposed to be with the the traveller?)

a little drawn out at times

Overall I did really enjoy it and ranks up there with the better Strek movies, much better than Insurrection for example, however, if this is the last TNG movie and if Data is not brought back somehow, I will be very, very displeased :wow:

  10. Yup, he got to command during nightshifts. It was actually part of the story line as the topic came up quite often. Which is why it's ironic that in end game, in the first future he's a Captain. I'm sure they did that in relation to him being an ensign the whole time on voyager.

  11. I feel exactly the same way. Ever since about Season 3 I wanted to see Chakotay and Janeway get together, in fact, I always expected they would. Especially after the episode in which Janeway finds out her finance had moved on (I forget what it was called)...

  12. Well, DS9 is my favorite of all the series and I believe had the deepest and strongest crew character wise. I wouldn't say Voyager was a weak cast though. It was just a different makeup.

    Perhaps.

Right now they just started Season 7 of DS9 on the space channel here in Canada. I must say, the more I watch DS9 the more it's becoming my favorite show, which is rather surprising because when it first came on I couldn't stand it.

As for Voyager, I didn't really mean it was poorly acted just compared to DS9 and TNG. I think one of the reasons I liked Voyager and why some people don't like it, is because it was more light-hearted. Yes, there were many dark episodes and what not, but Voyager was just more "fun" than the other series in my opinion.

  13. haha yeah, Neelix was kind of annoying though I liked his depature episode and he had some comedic moments with Tuvok.

I agree it was more of a family. More friendships seemed to develop than in other series and Janeway was a bit of a mom at times, definitely.
