  1. I can't think of any other times when a "character" from Voyager crossed over, but there are a few times when some of the actors played other parts. Tim Russ (Tuvok) was in Generations on the Enterprise B as well as he played a terroist in an episode of TNG (can't remember the name). Ethan Phillips (Neelix) also played a Ferangi in the TNG episode Menage a Troi. Also Robert Duncan McNeill (Tom Paris) was in the TNG episode The First Duty.

Those are the only ones that come to mind at the moment.

Yup, I noticed all of those as well.

Marc Aliamo (Dukat) also played Gul Macet and a Romulan on TNG. He made a good Romulan. And the most recent, in that regard, would be J.G. Herztler (Martok) playing a different Klingon on Enterprise.

  2. I was referring more to situations where Captain had been killed before the Omega warning was received.  Maybe there is a book in the Captains ready room that says "Read me when the Captain bites the big one"

If you lose a captain, star fleet would be notified right away and probably either send a replacement asap or promote the commander and give him all the info.

Obviously, Voyagar's case was unique and they'd be more or less be screwed.

  3. I just saw this episode for the first time today and I think the episode is so great because you'd never see anything like it on Voyager or TNG. It was very powerful and dealt with a lot of realistic issues that the Federation infantry would face against The Dominion. Episodes like this one is why I like DS9 so much.

  4. Yeah, the was pretty cool, but i must admit. THe people getting killed in the transporter malfunction kind of gave me nightmares. If i remember right, in the novel version of the movie, it was Kirk's girlfriend that was on the other pad and got killed.

Forgot about that one. That was a little freaky.

  5. What I mean is, did you enjoy the Dominion War or would you have liked to have seen DS9 do something different? I thought a War was the only way for DS9 to go as this was the tougher series. After the bright campness of TOS and TNG (The flying hotel with kiddies and bright outfits) DS9 was darker and harder. There was more conflict in the air and more grit. A war was perfect as it added to this.

I loved it, it's the reason I gave DS9 another chance, and voila, it's my favorite series now.

  6. It's probably my least favorite too, though I didn't really like ST: The Motion Picture either. That movie was just way too drawn out and had really poor character development and instead relied on whiz-bang effects. But as for ST:5, it was definitely weak. It had some good moments so it's not completey useless, such as when Scotty says, "I know this ship like the back of my hand" and bangs his head on a part of the ship... priceless.

  7. I haven't read any ST books in ages, but I've read a couple of TNG books back when I was younger. I think my favorite was Masks (totally different than the episode of the same name). It took place during the second season of ST so it had Pulaski. It had a lot of twists and turns and was really in-depth from what I remember. Plus, Picard got it on with a lady hehe.

  8. i vote for Mr Remick who not only had his head explode but also had a mind-controlling alien rip out 0of his stomach. GREAT  :tear:

yeah, that was pretty awful but it's kind of laughable now due to the special f/x we know they could do now. If they re-did that shot using cg graphics, it wouldn't be entirely disgusting.

  9. Where the Klingon laughs works in mine too, since was 12 year olds, with a mean stare on my face saying "I am the captain"... just didn't work. I managed not to flub any lines but my Dad who sat at the helm was practically sitting on Sulu, so they screwed up the positioning. He's also about twice the size of Sulu so it looked amusing.

  10. ok, over in the delta quadrant there is an empire of sorts called the Dominion.

They are actually part of the Gamma Quadrent. Other than that, good summery of the Dominion.

Yes, my mistake, I knew they were from the Gamma Quadrant... been watching too much Voyager haha :tear:
