A great person to emulate in this field is Steve Geppi. Any fan of comics should know who he is. I've known Steve for over 25 years. He was a mailman who wanted to start his own business, a comic book store. He went through neighborhoods knocking on doors asking people if they had any old comics they wanted to get rid of. He then opened his first store. It was a small store situated underneath a shoe repair store. Some time later, he opened up 2 more stores.
One day Steve figured out that the real money was to be made in distribution of comics, not selling them. He took his profits and started Diamond comics. which today is the largest book and magazine distributing company in the world. Every comic book store in the USA has to go through Steve to get their comics from Marvel,DC,etc. Today, Steve is a millionaire several times over, is the publisher of Baltimore Magazine and is a part owner of the Baltimore Orioles. Despite his success, he is still one of the nicest guys in the world. It never went to his head. If you met him on the street, you would never guess he was a millionaire. He comes off as just a regular guy. I've always told him that he should write an autobiography as it would be an inspiration to any budding entrepenours.

I've always felt that Trek 3 was one of the most under-appreciated films in the series. It has a great story, a great villian and is the 2nd part of one huge story. The trilogy of Trek's 2,3 & 4 have always been my favorite movies of the franchise.

For me the saddest thing in Trek was when the original Enterprise was destroyed in Trek III. It had been our constant companion for all those years and just like that ....it was gone

Does it make a good mix with beer?

I HAVE JUST ABOUT EVERY TREK BOOK EVER PUT OUT INCLUDING THE VERY FIRST HARDBACK. I'VE BEEN BUYING THEN SINCE THE 1970s. I'VE BEEN THINKING ABOUT GETTING RID OF THEM ALL TO CREATE SOME MORE SPACE IN MY BASEMENT. ANY OFFERS?

NO OFFENSE BUT I'VE TRIED EARL GREY AND TO ME IT TASTES LIKE HOT WATER MIXED WITH PEPPER.

IT DOESN'T MATTER WHO PEOPLE VOTE FOR. THE MAIN THING IS THAT PEOPLE VOTE AND MAKE AN INFORMED CHOICE. THERE ARE TOO MANY PEOPLE WHO CAN'T BE BOTHERED TO LOOK UP THE FACTS CONCERNING A CANDIDATE AND WHO RELY SOLEY ON RUMOURS,CELEBRITY ENDORSEMENTS AND INNUENDO WHEN IT COMES TO VOTING. SOUND LIKE ANYONE YOU KNOW?

Star Trek was at its best during the years between the cancellation of TOS and the start of TNG. The passion for the series that was displayed during those years will always outshine the apathy shown by most fans today.

I don't think there is any similarity at all between the racism displayed in the bar scene and racism displayed just toward middle eastern people. I believe the bar scene displayed an example of racism in general, not toward any specific type of alien.

Spike TV is the closest you can get. They play Trek practically all day long.

There is also some concern that we are due for a shift in our magnetic poles. According to some scientists, this occurs every several 100,000 years or so. It is a documented fact that the magnetic field surrounding our planet has gotten weaker. Perhaps the poles will shift in 2012. -
While "The City On The Edge Of Forever" is generally regarded as one of the best TOS episodes ever (as it should be), I always found that "Tommorrow Is Yesterday" is often overlooked. Its a great episode with a good dose of humor added in.
The Doomsday Machine

The Doomsday Machine is my absolute favorite TOS episode. Its over 35 years old and it is still relevant today.
I loved it so much that I made a Constellation model when I was a kid. I took and Enterprise model, put the Constellation stickers on it and then used a butane lighter to inflict the battle damage. I still have the model today.
