Finally got the upgrade completed, after a week and a half of trying. The skin may need some tweaks, so I'll see about that going forward. -

Star Trek: Lower Decks
A l t e r E g o reacted to xenexian for a post in a topic
Just when I thought that Lower decks would be dismissed, here you are. Lower Decks the best thing to have happened to ST in years. As an old original ST fan I was so happy so see ST not taken as seriously as some would have it. The ability to laugh at one's self is primary in being humble and still recognizing the importance and greatness that is ST. There are many easter eggs to satisfy the hardcore fans and entertainment to bring in the next generation of fans to continue carrying the torch. I love this series and ensign Mariner is my new hero and right up there with Jadzia Dax. Any other Lower Deck fans here or have you all become staid? -

Inconstancies
A l t e r E g o reacted to ericppl for a post in a topic
In season 1 episode 15 Balance of Terror, they show the base being destroyed and then they show the romulan ship disappearing. Also there is an inconstancy in romulan uniforms, the centurions in the episode are with a red uniform, then in season 3 episode 2 The Enterprise Incident they are blue. Just wanted to point this out, sorry my first post was so negative. -

DISCOVERY Season 3 Now streaming, Intros and Next Episode Previews
A l t e r E g o reacted to mj for a post in a topic
First time in years I have rewatched Star Trek episodes multiple times, not in the previous two seasons of Discovery, nor in Picard. I watched the ending of S3 E2 so many times I have lost track. I started this season irked because somehow in the future the Federation was gone, but even in E1 the hope of the Federation persists in such a way that it is inspiring. But while I loved the ending of E1, the ending of E2 felt so much like the Star Trek of old, I have watched it over and over. I get the same feeling. And in each of the episodes we have seen Discovery embodying the Federation in what they do to help who they encounter, keeping hope alive, even with Michelle Yeoh’s character non-Federation interjections. I loved Saru’s comment about dialogue being a tool, and how Earth and Titan will work out their problems. I loved Tilly hugging the tree, finding something on Earth that remembered her. I find the first three episodes of S3 rich enough to consider again and again. *I went back and checked to see if I really didn’t review episodes, and I did review a few after all, just not with the current enthusiasm. -

Star Trek: Picard
youbroughtheryouRiker reacted to Sasuga for a post in a topic
I found Picard to be an interesting sort of side show to Star Trek. It feels/felt more like a spin-off than a true continuation. Sure, sure, there's arguments to be made that it's a continuation... It's got Picard as the protagonist, and we get to see some of the old crew, and it takes place long after TNG, etc. I'm talking about how it felt/feels to me. It doesn't feel like Star Trek to me. However, most of the stuff with the Star Trek logo on it doesn't feel like Star Trek to me. -

Star Trek: Picard
A l t e r E g o reacted to VaBeachGuy for a post in a topic
Seeing as this is a new series, it should have had its own forum before now, so this forum is for the discussion of Picard. With the family health issues that I've been dealing with for the past couple of years, I haven't really taken a lot of time to sit down and watch any of the new Star Trek stuff, so I haven't even seen the first episode of this show yet. What I may do is watch it and record my reactions to each episode for YouTube, and give my opinions/thoughts to each episode... good, bad or indifferent. I'm not sure when (if) I'll do that, but maybe I'll get started on that in the near future. -

Star Trek 6: The Undiscovered Country (Director's Cut) ??
A l t e r E g o reacted to KLund1 for a post in a topic
This version title is a bit confusing to me. I can not find this version on BD. But is is on Vudu for rent and buy for streaming only. https://www.vudu.com/content/movies/details/title/180841 I think things are also more confusing in that the DVD Special Edition is actually the Director's Cut. Yes No ? And I think those terms get switched around often. So if this Vudu ( I also found it this exact same title on my Xfinity account, see screen snip attached) just the DVD Special Edition. Or do they have a better up-scaled version not available on a disc for us to purchase. The BD I have is just a bad transfer of the theatrical release. Or more simply; is there a Blu-Ray ST6 Director's Cut? (even better 4KBD!) Maybe there is a link that explains all this I am not aware of? Thanks (Trek Lives !) -

I really enjoy this show. Lots of good twists and potential for the both the new and "old" characters that are part of the main cast. -

Hello - I'm new!
Mr.Picard reacted to daniel4ever for a post in a topic
Tee hee... So, while researching Blu Ray players, that also led me to learn about 4k and led me to look at TVs. We do have a flatscreen already that handles HD, but it is on the smaller side - 32 inch - because of the set up we have -we cannot do the larger TVs. I have a smattering of movies that came as set with DVD/Blu Ray/ Digital, with the idea that we would eventually get a Blu Ray player. I too am not ready to give up my DVDs and the player I have also has a built in DVR and can also wrote to DVD, something hard to get now. I know it was startling the difference between the remastered TOS DVDs, so now I must see TNG Blu Rays! All I need to do now is figure out which Blu Ray player to get. 8-) Thanks again! -

Hi Mr.Picard! Thank you so much for the information! We do not have a Blu Ray player (yeah, we are old and set in our ways... LOL...) But maybe it is time to spring for one. You have given me a lot to think about, and I truly appreciate your taking the time to reply! -

ADDICTED TO EBAY
Mr.Picard reacted to VaBeachGuy for a post in a topic
I don't buy a lot on eBay, but I've been a seller on there since the late 90's. I've had two different seller accounts on there, the first one from the late 90's to very early 00's kind of got lost to time. I sold a lot of computers that I built, back then but I have no idea what the total dollar amount of sales were. If I were to guess, I'd say probably in the $25,000 to $35,000 range. On my current seller account, which I've had going since 2002, I just looked up the total dollar amount of sales since then and was blown away by the total amount. Almost $98,000.00. Of course, that's spread out over 18 years worth of selling. In all that time, zero negative feedback, all positive. -

Hello mj. Happy New Year. I've passed your inquiry along to Kevin. In the meantime you may post topics about the new show in TNG forum if you wish. -
1 pointNot sure if anyone's still around but hey, I'm used to shouting into a void. lol I guess I'm back... this board was one of the first international Trek boards I joined back in the early 2000s and I have many, many fond memories of it. I returned a few years ago but then left again because I lacked the time to keep up properly, but these days I have a job that allows me to start early and leave early so that I have more time for my hobbies. Anyways. I hope someone reads this... oh and I shall start updating my Sir Patrick topic again. I hope no one minds, heh.
