Was reading an interview with Paul McGillion from Stargate: Atlantis, and he said that he had watched the entirity of TOS, so I guess that would make him a trek fan right?
Spockstellaiter
Jim Meddick author of the cartoon monty, he's a biiig fan

Do you think it would be possible for these supposed Trek[kies/kers] to help out in the renewal of Star Trek? [The ones that are still alive, that is... tongue.gif ]

Might be a long shot, but maybe you might be on to something DrWho..

No one has mentioned Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. he and his whole family were big Star Trek fans, As a matter of fact its because of Dr. King that Nichelle Nichols (Uhura) stayed on the show!

Dave Foley

I was watching Celebrity Poker Showdown and he referred to a bowl full of Koosh balls as 'Baby Tribbles'.

I just read an interview by David Hewlett and he admitted he had always been a scifi fan and mentioned Star Trek specifically.

Dr who and Takara, I am sure Douglas Adams was a fan but i am afraid that he is dead. He died of a heart attack about 4 years ago. He was a fantastic author of science fiction so am sure he would have liked all the star trek shows. The hitchhikers guide to the galaxy can be heard
(i think it's still there) on radio at the bbc website, the second series is coming soon.
DrWho42
I'm aware he ascended to a different dimension... Did so 3.8 years ago. sad.gif
First funeral broadcasted over the Internet.

Though, it happens to be the D.N.A.'s birthday today, so happy birthday Adams! smile.gif happybday.gif

I believe Alan Keyes recent Senate candidate in Illinois and VERY conservative, Black Republican said he liked Star Trek in either Chicago Sun Times or Chicago Tribune - could be verified. Also the old show In Living Color used to do Star Trek parodies some writer or someone on show must have liked or watched Star Trek.
Perhaps writers on SG1 are also fans. Does ST.com have any such info I wonder?
Takara_Soong
People at Pixar Animation Studios need to be added to the list. I don't know who specifically to add so I'll just put them all.

There were many Trek references in Toy Story and Toy Story 2.

I was watching The Incredibles for the first time yesterday and there is a scene where Mr. Incredible finds the bones of a dead superhero in a cave and a word carved/lasered into the wall of the cave. The next scene he's trying to hack the bad guys computer and when he is prompted for a password he uses the word he saw in the cave and gets in. The password was Kronos.

Dennis Haysbert, former President David Palmer on 24

Here's an entry on the Wikipedia regarding Michelle Forbes appearances on 24:

Her co-star, Dennis Haysbert, is a Trekkie and was reportedly thrilled to be working with her, since she played the character of Ro Laren in several episodes of Star Trek: The Next Generation.

Crazy-Trek-Kitten
I dont' know if this is already said but Brad Pasily.

I mean he did have 2 star trek poeple in one music video it was so kick A~~.

I can't believe I forgot to include The Wiggles on this list. From their TOS-style costumes to the alien character who says "resistance is futile", there can be no doubt.

Also, someone who worked on The Big Comfy Couch. I saw an episode once where a TNG command uniform jacket with captain's pips was hanging on Granny Garbanzo's clothes line.
Takara_Soong
I'm adding Jane Wiedlin of the GoGo's to the list. Apparently she named her current band froSTed and the capitalized "ST" stands for Star Trek. She also appeared in ST IV as an alien communications officer.

I've added Kevin Sorbo as I recently saw an interview in which he said one of the reasons he took the role of Dylan Hunt in Andromeda was the fact he is a Star Trek fan and admirer of Gene Roddenberry.

I've found another copy that's better. I hope this works for everyone.
William Shatner on The Tony Danza Show

That was pretty funny. Too bad Shatner couldn't get into the spirit of things and had to be a comedian rather than read Danza's script.

Jon Stewart can be added to the list. I saw a post over at trekbbs, claiming Stewart made reference to the Genesis Device from Star Trek II in one episode of the Daily Show.

I'm going to add Rick Rashid, the top researcher at Microsoft, to the list. In a Business Week article that is currently available online, it said this about him:
QUOTE
Like most good geeks, Rick Rashid is a hard-core Star Trek nut. He's got the Star Trek symbol on his office door, and little figures from the show line his shelves. He was even friends with the late actor James Doohan, who played Scotty.

I suppose you can add Steven Harper, it was in the TrekToday news bullets.

That's cool, Dr. Who. I hope a few people will come check us out, join STF and add to it. I find it fascinating to see the wide variety of people who are on the list but then it is just another example of the diversity of the Trek fan base.

I checked out their list and the only person we don't seem to have on ours is Quentin Tarantino. According to wikipedia's list he has named Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan as one of his favorite films of all time, and also makes frequent references to the original series in his films.

Otherwise our list has more names. LOL

Yeah, a line in Kill Bill Volume 1 said that that Sofie woman looked like a villain on Star Trek. I don't know how though.
Takara_Soong
I seem to have missed Andy Dick from the list. I know he's a fan and he appeared on Voyager as EMH-2 in the episode Message in a Bottle.

Trekweb.com had a link to a Valentine's article at the Boston Herald that said that Angelina Jolie had a childhood crush on Spock so I'm adding her to the list.

Trekweb.com also had a report that Moody Blue's drummer Graeme Edge considers himself a Trekkie. He says he evens has an autographed TOS script.

I've read somewhere that Kirsten Dunst is a Star Trek fan. She was also in the TNG episode "Dark Page"
