Sorry all you ENT fans, but I simply don't accept the TATV aspect of this episode.

This episode is a TNG episode written by the genius Ronald Moore.

It has never and will never have anything to do with ENT in any way IMO.

Because of all the criticism for TATV, this episode may have lost some of it's goodwill from some Star Trek fans, ENT fans in particular, but I must disregard the shameful actions of Rick Berman and Brannon Braga in trying to pin their poor writing onto Ronald Moore's work.

Anyway, this episode is superb. Tremendous storylines which finally addresses the issue of the Federation, cloaking devices and the terrible Treaty Of Algeron.

Admiral Pressman had my sympathies in this episode. I'm in complete agreement with him. Only a fool would have signed a treaty banning the use of cloaking devices while allowing the Romulans to use them. But I suppose the good thing about it is that it created the conflict needed to make this episode so great.

Excellent episode.

Gold Standard.

Rating = 5

I said 4 and I was being generous. Quite frankly, Admirals suck. If you want to ruin an episode, have an Admiral guest star.

But least it showed how Starfleet was very human (like in "Insurrection"). Despite all its high and mighty principles, it still tended to screw people over.
