HRH The KING 0 Posted June 21, 2005 Although this episode was based in part on a situation where a crappy planet wanted Federation membership (or at least 3/4 of the planet) the main issue here was that after seven years of messing around, they finally dealt with the relationship between Captain Picard and Beverley Crusher. It could have been so much more had they developed it right from the start like they did with Kira and Odo. But alas it didn't happen. Heck he never even kissed her. In spite of this, the episode in question was very well written with strong performances from Patrick Stewart and Gates McFadden. Rating =
GhostofMajorHayes 10 Posted January 19, 2008 I give it a 3. The subplot regarding the planet that wanted membership for its own ethnicity was far more interesting than the failed moonlighting in space affair between jean-luc and the always attractive Dr. Crusher. youbroughtheryouRiker 2 Posted February 6, 2008 I award this one a 5. I love the exploration of the Picard/Crusher relationship, but the subplot was just as interesting. I loved watching the Kes going in a tizzy of a tailspin with paranoia, the Prytt being pricks, and Riker getting incredibly agitated with the both of them. Made for some very good television.
