This episode introduces Reg Barclay, who was actually a likable guy, albeit socially awkward. The issue of "holo-addiction" was addressed here, which seems to be a reasonable danger from using the holodeck. It's understandable that a person can get lost in a fictional fanatasy world, especially an introvert like Barclay, particularly when they have access to such technology.

A thoughtful episode.

I Gave TNG Eps a 4-5 was a decent story and it did introduce Reg Barclay.

I gave it a 5. Loved the Three Musketeers holosuite program (the costuming was fabulous), and Reg Barclay is one of my all-time favorite characters.

I gave it a four. I felt sooooo bad for Barclay when Picard accidentally calls him "Mr. Broccoli."

And the look Data gives that captain after that is priceless.
