This one got a 3 from me. The payoff was a bit weak...I mean, c'mon three villains running away, and a fourth not even slain really? Especially since one of them was a Klingon, and one that helped make way for a lot of Klingon life afterwards? Weak. The character of Kahless, of course, appears in TNG with Worf. Nothing much involving Zora or Genghis, so that was a letdown. Green was well-acted though, as were Lincoln and Surak, though even Surak should have seen that if in his day, early emissaries would kill, all four of them could end up gone really quickly and boom, game over. And I don't think anything was really learned by the Excalbans...and naming a species after King Arthur's sword? Um...no. The Medusans were an obvious pun for their hideousness, this one didn't sit with me. So, yeah, a 3.

One of the weakest episodes of TOS with a ridiculous plot. I didn't like this one at all. Ranks right up there with "Spock's Brain". The only redeeming feature of this episode is that it is the first episode where Surak and Kahless are mentioned.

I GAVE IT A 5!

I pretty fall in line with most Trekkers on topics such as; Borg Kids on Voyager... hated it. Horrible idea.

Next Gen Shades of Grey... hated it. Worst Next Gen episode ever.

And so on...

But come on, Savage Curtain was AWESOME! Surak, Kahless and Col. Green all wonderful characters.

The scene where Spock 1st sees surak and expresses emotion; Classic Spock moment and dialog.

And the scene where Lincoln attempts to rescue Surak and discovers him dead...

Kahless says "Help me Spock, Help me Spock"

Col. Green to Kahless "Now can you cry like Lincoln?" Kahless "Help me Kirk... Help me Kirk..."

Lincoln to Kirk "James... Go back.." Lincoln falls over with a spear in his back!

TOS at its finest!
