1. IF is the middle word in LIFE.....

If i didn't have to work so much i'd enjoy Life more

If I had more money I could enjoy Life more

If Enterprise would answer my communicator, they could beam me up...Please! If my Phasor was real I could vaporize B&B and there would be no trace...

If I could go back in time and change things....My life could be better...

    If ...If...if.....

    July 9, 2005

    6:45 A.M.

BRINGGG……BRINGGG…. BRINGG…the phone continued to ring as my outstretched arm emerged from beneath the bed sheets. My hand and fingers continued to search the night-stand blindly as I quietly cursed that adorable (I'm trying to say a bad word but can't).

“Yes, Di ….good morning….what time is it?” I growled as I rubbed my eyes and tried to focus the digital numbers on the clock beside the phone.

I could hear noise and people around her….”you’ll never guess what happened this morning!” she exclaimed in excitement.

I quietly grinned….for I had a pretty good guess….but I kidded her instead….”you woke up this morning, found you had a heart and it loved me? Besides its Saturday and just barely morning?” I rolled over to find that as usual, she had departed while I slept to return to her own dwelling.

“Ha…Ha…” she snorted…..”No, the exhibit just acquired another treasure this morning…a book, a very rare Druid Mystic piece. written just prior to the Dark Ages, around 400 A.D. !”

I grinned at my handy work and continued to kid with her, knowing that this gift was in fact from me. “And did you get the roses I sent you?” knowing that mere flowers from Jack Martin wouldn’t compare to such a prize.

“Jack …yes…they are lovely. The book-- was donated by that reclusive billionaire philanthropist ----Gerard Maximilian. It came to the Las Vegas Exhibit this morning. The curator called me in because there was a 'Thank You' note addressed specifically to me from that rich bastard! It’sa very strange… I’ve never even spoken to him. Oh, and I got a raise. Now I’m booked on the 7:15 to Nevada…can you believe it!”

“But Di Darling!” I mockingly tried to imitate her.”….I thought we had a date tonight!”

She got seriously irritated with me”….I thought we had agreed that our personal relationship wouldn’t interfere with our careers. And it is just casual…besides you’re having dinner with ‘Father Flanagan‘ tonight anyway.”

    “It’s Father Kenneth. “ I returned.

“Who-ever…got to run Jack. I’ll be back Monday or Tuesday Evening By the way, have you seen the morning paper? Looks like you just got back from Boston in time…there’s been a gruesome murder out there. Watch your back….don’t lose your head!”

With that, the phone went dead, and my sense of humor disappeared. Di knew nothing about my immortality or the Gathering, or prize. I stepped into the living room and there on the floor beneath the mail slot was the Chicago Times, with an image of the recently deceased Icabod Roddenberry. I was suddenly on full alert...muttering under my breath., "May the poor bastard finally rest in peace." He wasn't a really evil Immortal, nor had he been exceptionally gifted with a blade, but he usually was able to remain "under the radar" from most of the other head-hunting Immortals. I reached under the bed and retrieved my sword. I began to look around the modest little apartment. Soon Jack Martin might need to disappear. I thought about Di and the fun we had been having…but, I knew it was really better this way. There was no need to endanger her life in this ...the Game. She was a free spirit with a heart of stone. Of this I was sure. Maybe that's why I loved her so much. We both knew that one day it would just be over, with nothing left except good memories.

  3. Italia A.D. 192

For several weeks I wandered the country-side alone, lost and terrified the ancestors had abandoned me. With no purpose to live, and knowing full well that I should by all accounts not be among the living, I longed to rejoin my family in Elysium. I made several attempts at taking my own life. First, I tried throwing myself off a high cliff--very painful, but I healed quickly. I then disemboweled myself, again very excruciating, but it did not achieve the customary results I had hoped for. During my final attempt, I was interrupted by a passing peasant family. Returning home from paying their taxes in Rome, they saw my twitching body hanging from a large chestnut branch along the side of the road. The old man held me still as his adult son frantically cut me down from the end of my rope.

My eyes opened to their concerned faces as I struggled to draw a breath past my ravaged throat. "Why didn‘t you leave me?" I tried to ask, but my crushed vocal chords would not respond.

"We shall take him with us and care for him until he has healed." the old man declared. He and his wife exchanged a glance and I gratefully returned to unconsciousness.

I awoke later that night, uncomfortably draped over the back of a smelly donkey as it plodded along the road. I pretended to still be asleep so I could listen to these strangers and try to figure out their intentions. Why had they rescued me? I was so sure I would have succeeded-- that time. Did they know my identity? Their soft words intruded upon the quiet clatter of feet and hooves upon the loose rocks in view below.

"What will he do when he finds out what we are?" asked the old woman.

"Now, Leah, we will trust in our faith. If he betrays us, we will just earn our place in Heaven that much sooner. We must trust in the Lord, and tend this lost soul toward a meaningful existence, and show him the Lord has yet a plan and purpose for him.

And so, over the next several weeks, I dwelt with these simple Christians, who made no acknowledgement of who I was…of this I was grateful, and their generosity was humbling…they had so little, yet shared it with a mere stranger whom they had taken in. I found myself ashamed…..for years earlier I had usually given the orders which had taken the lives of so many of their brethren, but too, I could see how their meekness was a cancer that threatened the might of Rome.

Many evenings, the old man would instruct his extended family by the fireside, of the story and teachings of this new Religion. Most evenings I would simply smile politely and allow my mind to wonder off to visions of my family and the life we once shared. Until one evening, when the old man, Kyros, began to speak of the Resurrection….this got my full attention.

“And on the third day he arose.”

Could there be another like me? That thought plagued me. I began asking questions….many questions.

“Do you mean, Kyros that this Jesus rose from the dead?”

“Yes, when the women came on the third day to anoint his body, they found the stone miraculously rolled away from the tomb‘s entrance.”

    “Did anyone actually see him?”

“Oh yes, many witnesses reported seeing and talking to him.”

“So, where can I find this Jesus?”

“He died for our sins, and ascended into heaven to make a place for us.”

“Did anyone see this?” I asked skeptically.

“There is more to faith than seeing with your eyes…you must believe in your heart.”

Evidently, my mocking questions did not set well with the mistress for I noticed my supper portions beginning to dwindle. My questions became more veiled. But the possibility of another like me haunted me, and so this is where my Search for Jesus began….literally. For 30 long years, I searched the length and breath of the known world. As I searched for this Man, I lived among his followers and learned of his Word. Everywhere, his followers were persecuted. And over the years…it seemed to me that the more they were persecuted, the more their numbers grew. But I never found --Him. As they say today…..ELVIS had left the building. It was at the end of this period… in

222 A.D. in Athens, that He found me….not Jesus…but the Hun; the first of our kind that I would spend an Eternity encountering…for I was not alone.

  4. Museum.jpg

Chicago’s Field Museum - Present Day

The young boy was bored to death as I peered at him through the outstretched net before me and continued my presentation. “So, as you can see, nets have been a vital tool for both primitive hunters and fishermen alike….”Jack.jpg

“When do we get to see the knives and swords and all the cool stuff!” one of the boys interrupted.

Sister Marie, scolded the youngster, “Jimmy, don’t interrupt! Professor Martin has been very generous with his time today, taking us on this tour. Now who remembers what St. Matthew said in Chapter 4, verse19?”

A small girl shyly raised her hand.

    “Yes, Carol?”

Frowning in concentration, she slowly recited,” Jesus walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers…” Her recitation faltered as another man and woman approached the group. The elegant looking woman was clad in a business suit with the museum’s emblem embroidered on the pocket. The man, clad in casual clothes, leaned against the wall, his hands thrust into his pockets.

“I want to go see the swords and stuff !”, Jimmy chimed in again.

Sister Marie gave him a stern glance, then turned to Carol again. “Please continue.”

Blushing slightly at all the attention now directed her way, the small girl went on , “And he said to them, ‘Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.’ “ And on that note, the man leaning against the wall, clapped his hands together, drawing the children’s attention toward him and with a defiant smirk at Sister Marie, he continued the bible verse, “’And they straightway left their nets, and followed him.’ Come on kids, I know where they keep the swords and armor . Who wants to see the samurai?”

Choruses of excited cheers and “yeah!!! floated down the hall as the group noisily charged off behind the stranger, leaving the Professor and the two young women behind.

“Sister Marie, let me introduce Diana Metcalf. She’s the Associate here at the Museum in charge of Acquisitions.”

“Nice to meet you,” Sister Marie mumbled quickly, then she directed a brilliant smile at Jack Martin. “Will you be attending Mass this Saturday? Father Kenneth would be especially pleased to see you.”

Diana raised one eyebrow and gave Jack a cryptic glance.

“I wouldn’t miss it for the world.” Jack replied.

“Splendid….Oh! Those children will get clear away from me!” she exclaimed as she hurried off down the hall in pursuit of the now disappearing group.

Diana pouted as she purred, “But Jack Darling, aren’t you forgetting something, We have a date this Saturday!” She eased the net from his hands and playfully draped it over him, wrapping it around his still outstretched wrists, playfully binding him, as he looked on in bemusement at her, “Yes, but dear, our “dates” never involve a “sleepover….“ was his playful reply as she grabbed his hands and pulled him down the hall, in the opposite direction of the kids. “I just don’t understand all this devotion to Church and religion, you’re such a devil at heart! And you could be having much more fun with your time!”

Jack’s smile became much more serious now, so he laughingly replied. “ Di, The Church was very good to me…. along time ago when I was lost and felt I had no more purpose in life. It has been my lighthouse during stormy times, and my salvation when I have no where to run.”

A mischievous grin lit her face as she turned the doorknob to the janitorial closet behind while slowly starting to undo the buttons on her blouse. Pulling him inside the small room she whispered. “If you’re going to Mass, you’ll be needing a few extra ‘sins of the flesh” to confess…and I am in charge of …acquisitions!

  5. "My name is Maximus Decimus Meridius, Commander of the Armies of the North, General of the Felix Legions, loyal servant to the true emperor, Marcus Aurelius. Father to a murdered son, husband to a murdered wife….and I will have my vengeance in this life or the next.”

I was born in Hispania, now known as Spain, in the year of our lord 151 A.D., faithfully serving Emperor Aurelius until his death in 180 A.D. My family was murdered because I refused to swear allegiance to his murderer and son--Commodus. I avenged their deaths, killing Commodus in 192 A.D., but not before being fatally wounded myself.

My lifeless body was carried from the arena and prepared for burial, but to my horror and anguish, my spirit’s reunion with my family in Elysia was no more than a dying illusion. A short-time later, from the depths of oblivion, in a terrifying jolt I was thrust back upon this world. My scream of anguish mirrored the scream of terror emitted by the young slave girl startled while attending my suddenly re-animated corpse. I grabbed imploringly at the last fading images of my beloved and son. I stared around in horror and panic for I believed myself cursed by my ancestors for all the sins and blood on my hands. I staggered forth , into that dark night from the morgue, seized a horse and fled into the hills surrounding Rome. I vowed I would never shed blood again.

    Character Intro-video

  6. Oh, lord, there was WAY more wrong with ENT than humor, although it was sorely missing. Allow me to list a few keys flaws.

    (1) The characters. Really, there was very little character development. They were all flat, and most of them rarely interacted with each other. It missed the family-like atmosphere so prevalent in all the other series.

    (2) Archer. In seasons 2 and 3, they essentially made him a bad guy. He did many things he himself admitted were immoral. (Torture, etc.) (Fixed in season 4.)

    (3) T'Pol. This could just be me, but I HATED that they made her a sex pot and nothing more. At least until season 4. (The last season was EXCELLENT, IMO.) Even Seven, who was undeniably eye candy, had a fascinating character. T'Pol was flat.

    (4) The Xindi. TWO SEASONS DEVOTED TO A SINGLE PLOT?! They are insane! Even shows that follow the same primary plot majorly change what's going on a few times a season. (Alias, 24.) ENT, for those two seasons, got SO boring. WE ALL KNOW THE EARTH ISN'T GOING TO BE DESTROYED! THIS IS A PREQUEL!! Ugh. (Fixed in season 4.)

    (5) They made the Vulcans evil. What was that? I can certainly understand tension between humans and Vulcans, but ENT went too far. (Fixed in season 4.)

The list goes on, but I'll end my venting here.

    328928

    Comments by the numbers:

    (1) I don't think the characters were flat, just not consistently developed or were poorly conceived to begin with.

Mayweather: a boomer....grew up on a space ship traveling where most other humans had never never been. Enterprise Show- plot concept- Man's first voyages "where no one's gone before"......and when they get there....their young helmsman speaks up and says..."yea, I've been here before." kinda a wet-blanket. At the very least there was lots of room to make his character ambious...after all...in the beginning he was already more qualified to be captain..there should have been more "private intel briefings between Archer and him...things like " well Travis what can we expect to find here?"

Phlox: basically a Swinger, "open marriage" kind of character.....this character was begging to be explored....and the places they could have gone with him would have pushed the limits of the censors( i.e. Orgies, Adultery, etc.)

Archer: I thought it was understandable that his character went from Bad to "school boy" from week to week...afterall his character was under much pressure. I just didn't really like the idea of being the son of the designer & not having any command experience...but being given command of Enterprise because "it's only fitting...it be commanded by Henry Archer's son."

T'Pol: I thought she did a remarkable job, as a first time actor in conveying "deep repressed emotion" with just a look or two. And she was hired as "eye candy" and as a Maxim Super model....she delivered...just wish we could have had more scenes with Long hair.

Xindi: well, they should have been "cancelled out".

Evil Vulcans: don't agree with you there..i don't think they ever came across as "evil" to me. And I think they should have played the tension a little longer.

  7. Introduction, Guidelines and Rules:

    Introduction

This RPG is based on Highlander I, III, End Game and the Series. A working knowledge of these will serve you well. Notice: Highlander II purposefully omitted- please do not create a character which “thinks” he/she is an alien banished to earth. For those not familiar with the premise, some notes follow:

    (1) Immortals can only be killed by decapitation, do not age and cannot have children.

    (2) We do not know why or how we came into being.

    (3) Immortals can sense the close proximity of other Immortals( like a Red Alert)

    (4) Immortals can be (fully) Immortal or possess LATENT Immortality . Immortality is only triggered after the Character experiences their first VIOLENT death, until that experience they age and can have children.

    (5) A note for the Ladies: Statistically, women experience the least number of VIOLENT deaths, hence the reason there are so few Immortal women, most of these violent deaths are at the hands of their lovers.

    (6) A secret organization known as the Watchers have been observing the Immortals.

    Guidelines:

    (1) Each player must create an original character never referenced or seen in the Highlander movies or series. And not a relative of the Macleod Clan.

    (2) You must introduce your character in the traditional Highlander style:

Example: I am Connor Macleod, of the Clan Macleod, born in (DATE <very important)….etc.

    (3) the RPG is set in present time (2005) Earth, all entries will be assumed to be occurring present time, unless you date it as a FLASHBACK: Example: Paris, 1812. Because we are Immortal, we have lived many secret lives…and the RPG will be rich with historic flashback encounters between friends and rivals, but these encounters can not happen…..if your character hasn’t been born yet. Hint: make your character old like a fine wine.

    (4) Your character may be: Immortal, (latent) immortal <which must be determined by another player, a Watcher, or simple mortal without knowledge of ‘all things Immortal”.

    (5) If you choose to be Immortal--Within your 5th post you must recount the story of your first violent death. Who, what, when, why, how. Hint: take your time and create a good “back story” for your character, if needed wait until other players have introduced their characters…then choose who killed you( your nemesis). You don’t have to be killed by another immortal to become immortal…it just has to be a VIOLENT death.

    Rules:

    (1) No player/writer can “behead” another character<<thus forcing the other writer/player out of the game. When you write your battles, you must allow an escape< unless approved in advance (by PM) by myself (game master). Each character/writer is responsible for writing/choosing when they wish to “retire” their own character and writing their death scene or by electing whom they wish to have the honor/privilege<< when this is the case they need to PM myself then the person who’ll be claiming the kill. Please remember, we are not only playing a game, but writing a story that is being enjoyed by others….by keeping readers “in the dark” and communicating in private….no one will ever know if a duel will result in a Kill or just another close call.

    (2) Each writer writes for only one character at a time, when you tire of the game…you may “retire” him/her then start a new one.

    (3) NO LIGHT-SABERS…sorry, light sabers against steel swords….NO. Remember the RPG is set in present tense Earth, except where noted by the writer stating otherwise<< the past ONLY.

    (5) Have Fun….remember Highlander is about Passion…Magic.

  8. The one thing I have to say about the buck rogers theme was that the start of the show music only has words for a intro and the end music has words but was never played for the show.  So IMHO I really don't think old buck and be counted as a theme song with words.

Far Beyond this World I know,

    Far Beyond my time,

    What kind of world,

    Am I going to find.

    Will it be real?

    Or Just in my Mind.

They played it at the end of the Movie(primere) and at the end of the series. I can remember it from 20years ago. So it must have left some kind of impression.

I have the mp3, if you want it.

Sure beam it up to : headborg2000@yahoo.com

    Thanks

  9. I voted Good. There was so much excitement and anticipation in the premiere of the new series ..it was easy to overlook details like canon violations. The characters were well introduced..loved the plot idea of the Vulcans having held back the Humans specifically Henry Archer's development of his Engine and thus giving Jonathan such dramatic tension with the Vulcans. Mayweather's Character was the only major disappointment, IMO Anthony Montgomery never stood a chance, his Character was poorly conceived in pre-production.

  10. Again it's a matter of the magnitude and the impact the species has on the storyline and the geographic proximity that makes a difference. (1) the Batazoids are a minor species(mole hill), (2) Bejorans, Cardassians, The Dominion and Founders...too far away to be a issue during the early era of Federation Exploration. (3) other's are all minor players too.  The Xindi are a loose-end that needed tieing up, but because the series has ended..unless the next show does something about it..I'll be left wondering what happened to them during the next 100 years between 2154 and 2164, did they destroy themselves in a Civil War-with only a handful remaining, did they suffer a long period of cultural isolation and a technological "Dark Age"? All pack-up and immigrate to another sector..Gamma, or Delta ..hince their long absence.

    327741

Wanting to have loose ends tied up is fine but how is that a canon problem?

How many times did TNG/DS9/VOY reference the Eugenics War - once (DS9's "Doctor Bashir, I Presume?")?* How many times was World War III referenced in TNG/DS9/VOY - once in TNG and once in ST:FC?* Those were major events in Trek history yet they were barely mentioned. In TNG/DS9/VOY how many times were the Enterprise-B or Enterprise-C mentioned - once for each (ST: Generations and Yesterday's Enterprise respectively).*

*I'm using the ST Encyclopedia for assistance in when these events were referenced.

    327777

You still seem to be neglecting the primary source of TREK CANON in your examples.....TOS<<<this is the bed-rock foundation of all things TREK...Eugenics War did not need to be referenced in TNG/DS9/Voy because it was conceived in TOS and those shows were set After TOS. Thankfully, Enterprise acknowledged it..which it had to because Enterprise is a prequel to TOS.

Same applies to your second example...WWIII...Colonel Green gets mentioned in Enterprise.

Having a prequel introduce such a major re-write( addition) to Trek history such as the Xindi and then jumping ahead and placing them in the Federation at some part of Trek Future Is like, if tomorrow the Vatican were to announce that there were really 16 apostles of Christ and here are their Testaments! Imagine if they had set up a Xindi Neutral Zone, too<<<would you still say that could have just been "overlooked" too. There are limits to how far you can go when writing a prequel, most of the time the RESET BUTTON is pushed at the end of the story arc..with the Xindi it wasn't(B&B job security to set up a future series by using a failing show to introduce a new set of charactors & villians(sphere builders) for future use).

It will be interesting to see the Enterprise F,G, H,I, or J with large "fish tanks" for the aquatic crew members..maybe will have whole sections of the ship "underwater" like Engineering! and maybe the human crew will have to wear SCUBA gear to work in those departments...Maybe we'll have great scenes of the ladies in thong bikini as standard StarFleet Uniform! :P

  11. The one thing I have to say about the buck rogers theme was that the start of the show music only has words for a intro and the end music has words but was never played for the show.  So IMHO I really don't think old buck and be counted as a theme song with words.

    327790

Far Beyond this World I know,

    Far Beyond my time,

    What kind of world,

    Am I going to find.

    Will it be real?

    Or Just in my Mind.

They played it at the end of the Movie(primere) and at the end of the series. I can remember it from 20years ago. So it must have left some kind of impression.

  12. The federation was formed in 2161 but canon gave no indication as to where the charter was signed although it could be easily deduced that it was signed on Earth since that is where Federation and Starfleet Headquarters are based.

According to Star Fleet Technical Manual: Articles of Federation paragraph 3:

HAVE RESOLVED TO COMBINE OUR EFFORTS TO ACCOMPLISH THESE AIMS.

Accordingly, The Respective Social Systems, Through Representatives assembled on the planet BABEL, Who have exhibited their full powers to be in good and due form, Have agreed to these Articles of Federation of the United Federation of Planets, and do hereby establish an inter-planetary organization to be known as The United Federation of Planets.

    CHAPTER XVIII

    RATIFICATION AND SIGNATURE

    .....

In Faith Whereof the Representatives of the govennments of the United Federation of Planets have signed these Articles of Federation.

Done at the Planet Babel Stardate 0965

(Followed by signature sheets of the original signatory governments)

    327451

As BKY says that wasn't on any of the series or movies. Books are not canon.

    From st.com:

...the events that take place within the live action episodes and movies are canon, or official Star Trek facts

    327584

:P B) I concede Articles of Federation are not Canon..Technical Manual is not canon....therefore it's AOK to sign the charter ANYWHERE TPTB wish to write/film it. And that idea of having the Romulans Invited to sign, but having them decline instead would be a really cool twist.

  13. I hope you are not refering to me assuming the Xindi could ever join the Federation anytime near-after the events of the conflict! When they joined is irrelevant, their unnoticed presence in the Alpha/Bata quad without being referenced or notice in the TOS-TNG-DS9 era is a canon problem.

    327244

Betazoids were never mentioned in TOS. Neither were Bajorans, Cardassians or Trill. Deltans, Orions and Platonians weren't in TNG and there was only a brief glimpse of Andorians (The Offspring). The Dominion and the Founders were never mentioned in TNG series. The only mention of the Dominion regarding TNG was in ST: INS.

At the time of TNG, the UFP consisted of 150 member planets spread over 8,000 light years (ST: FC), most of the planets haven't been identified in canon. In Time's Arrow Part II, Deanna Troi told Samuel Clemons that the Bolian he had just seen was one of thousands of species they had encountered. The Federation President in ST: VI was a species that has never been identified and that species hasn't been seen in any other movie or series.

So what's the big deal that the Xindi weren't mentioned in TOS/TNG/DS9. It's a big galaxy. They can't show or mention every species out there.

    327594

  14. It's always easier to be negative, but i thought i'd start a thread and see if some of the other star trek fans who mostly disliked Enterpise could list  Postitives about the series.

I think the concept started out really great, and B&B succeeded in giving us a really cool show targeted at more mature audiances. More Nudity, more action/violence, sexual situations, cursing.. next time I hope they go further and take Star Trek franchise and the viewers ..where they havent gone before.  Jolene has a beautiful body, I wish I could have seen more of it.

    326743

Yes, more nudity, action/violence, sexual situations, and cursing are exactly what I'd like to see added and expanded in the next Star Trek series .... :look:

Are you being facetious? I am.

    327468

Negative on the facetious..sorry...i really liked the sexy new look of Enterprise, I'm NOT suggesting a x-rated version of Trek, but to compete for more mass market share(and thus stay on the air) and compete with BattleStar Galactica and other's the franchise will have to get down in the mud.......maybe with Orion Slavewomen Mud wrestling. TPTB had the right idea, they just didn't go far enough. I don't see why we can't have a Star Trek the stimulates both the Higher Brain functions with Award winning sci-fi themes, and Lower order stimulus with T&A, violence, action!

  16. There seemed to be more light humor in the beginning, but around the time of the Xindi arc, the humor on Enerprise sometimes seemed darker than most other Treks - more "DS9-like". I found something funny in most Enterprise episodes, but maybe that's because I love dark humor.  :look:

    325070

I agree 100%, in the beginning there was lots of light humor, but as the story became more darker....the places for those lighter moments became smaller and smaller..season long story arc "searching for Xindi" ...and all the run-ins with bad guys left Archer's charactor..."without much sense of humor"

Remember the Shower scene were the grav plating failed...

The shooting contest when the shuttle pod lifted off the sphere, and they shot it down.

    When Phlox's wife came onboard.

The Forge: when they were chased by a large "Vulcan house pet"..."you had on of those?!?"

The fight between Malcome and the Major, and later being chewed out by Archer..then he leaves the room....they are left standing at attention...."did he say dismissed?"

Trip and Malcome: robbed & stripped and tied up on shore-leave, stranded together in a shuttlepod, then on the Romulan Drone, and crawling around the repair station getting beamed onto the deck infront of T'Pol.

  17. I would have not killed Trip, not made it from a Holodeck point of view (maybe time travel…), and would have moved it all up to the formation of the UFP, then at the end, shown the bridge of a Romulan ship in orbit of earth…

    327245

The Romulan War was over at this point in history. The Romulans would be in a period of isolation at the end of the war.

    327254

I like the ideal of the POV of a cloaked Romulan ship in orbit witnessing the signing of the Federation Charter.....and they kicking and stomping their feet over it. Watching from the POV of the bridge..and then saying well guess we'll make an alliance with the Klingons? Wasn't the Charter signed on Babel? or did B&B change that too already? And when did the Romulans make an alliance with the Klingons? or did they.. or was it just an exchange of technology?

  18. Did I miss something? When was it said that the Xindi joined the Federation?

    326538

Daniels told Archer while they were onboard the Enterprise-J.

    326939

Yeah & what wasn't said was WHEN they joined, for all we know it could have been a week or month or year prior to Archers visit to the future. To think they joined sometime near-after the events of the Xindi conflict is fan assumption.

Come to think of it I believe I do remember hearing Daniels say something to Archer about their (Xindi) joining (or about to join) being a current event of the time of Ent J.

    326960

I hope you are not refering to me assuming the Xindi could ever join the Federation anytime near-after the events of the conflict! When they joined is irrelevant, their unnoticed presence in the Alpha/Bata quad without being referenced or notice in the TOS-TNG-DS9 era is a canon problem.

I understand that small issues can go unnoticed without causing a continuity problem, but Xindi with the technology to build DeathStar type weapons capable of destroying entire planets and (transwarp conduits) during all those era.. is highly unplausable to go unnoticed. It's like the old question: If a tree falls in a forest and no-one's around to hear it-did it make a sound? But the Xindi being in the forest(alpha quad), is like saying: if a meteorite 1/2 mile in diameter strikes the forest and no one's there to hear it.........

    It's the Magnitude that matters.

  19. I just think that any movie or television show about space, be it Star Wars or Star Trek or any other space-themed show, needs to be instrumental/orchestral music.  All of the other Trek shows/movies themes were instrumental, uplifting, and really painted a auditory picture.

Vocal and space does not mix.  Quite frankly, the Enterprise theme song was one of the initial turn-offs for me, followed closely by the "prequel" nature of the show.

    326873

Does that mean you didn't like the Buck Rogers song, or Flash Gordon?

The whole Visual Department did a great job, the sets were great.

I loved a lot of the orbiting scenes...where they oriented Enterprise correctly with the top of the ship toward the planet...was more realistic than the old (TOS) where they would orbit on edge.

    Theme music perfect.

    Those Andorian Antennae looked great.

The Actors did a great job(considering what they had to work with on paper)

Thank U..Manny Coto for giving us an excellent 4th season and thank you Brent Spiner for giving us an incredable 3part look at Dr Soong in the early years.

The SpaceSuits were really cool...so was the decon chamber but for different reasons of course. I wished they had used both more often.

Decon Jell( clear hair jell ) this stuff should have saved Enterprise...it's a cheap prop supply they should have bought it by the 55 gal drum.

  21. I would have set the finale  15-20 yrs in the future.....NX-01 would be a orbiting museum, and the charactors would all be coming aboard for a reunion..in "aged" makeup, there would be lots of "flashback" footage..and they could "talk" about the good ole days, and the Earth/Romulan war, atleast one human/vulcan child running around, and Phlox could bring a couple wives with him, and we learn that Reed ended up married to one of them, lol...maybe have an emergency excuse to fire up the old girl and take it for a spin..the old crew...complete with tourist onboard.

    325251

Ok..I quoted myself...Amendment: if fans have to have a Trip death scene..then 20yrs in the future during this ReUnion..some of those Xindi reptile who didn't give up the fight(and have finally lost the Xindi Civil War) are spotted heading for earth, the rest of the newly commissoned "star fleet" are out patroling the new Romulan Neutral Zone...only the old NX-enterprise stands between these final xindi and Earth, she's fired up and heads out to take on one last time...Trip gives his life to save Earth, the Ship, his family on board...and we have an incredible moving death scene where he dies in the arms of T'Pol with his young Son/Daughter...crying saying No Daddy,... And he asks Archer to take care of his family.

  22. Did we actually see Mirror Spock chance things...or were we just left with the impression that he would try to change things? perhaps he failed?

I forget the episode name, but the very first Mirror Universe episode on DS9 had Mirror Kira explaining to our Kira how Spock did just that causing the Empire to become weak and susceptible to conquest.

    326331

You found my biggest weakness.....i didn't like DS9 as much as Voy...stopped watching all-to-gether, hence a big hole in my trek knowledge. Thanks for the Info. :dude:
