Two of them changed. Tal maybe grew a bit more confident, they didn't really fix her.

A very good episode which gives us a better look at the lower decks of Voyager. Janeway takes three misfit crewmembers on an away mission, all of whom I seem to have something in common with. At least this episode has a happy ending- meaning the Bajoran doesn’t die.

Oh snap! That’s messed up! They could have at least tried to find some other way to infect/ fend off the Borg. I hope the lot of them get assimilated and blown up by Voyager. Still a pretty damn awesome episode.

Is that how surgical alteration works? I don’t think I’ve ever seen it done, but I never imagined it would be with a hypo spray. Didn’t they use dermal regenerators in past episodes? Or is it just because of Lyndsay’s physiology? Bah! This confuses me. I hate kids. Poor Harry. I think he’s suffered the most throughout the Voyager’s “adventures”, only with the exception of, you know, the people who have died. But then again, Harry did die once or twice. Poor Harry… Sad episode.

I was looking through a blank tape and found a recorded Enterprise episode, Affliction, so I'm watching that.

 

This episode was on Spike just today.

And just today was the first time I watched it. I don't have disc 5 of season 6 so I couldn't watch four episodes including this one. Thanks to Spike, I'll finally be able to finish my reviews.

The holodeck malfunctions! But this time there's a believable reason for it. The people of Fair Haven discover too much about the crew, and their 19th century-programmed minds just can't handle it and start a lynch mob. In all, a fun episode.

I like Seven, but she seems to have been made too much of a sex symbol (Jadzia's WAY sexier). Not to mention my being a Kes fan, so I pick the Doc-man-thing.

Now I'm watching DS9: The Quickening.

After that, I'm going to watch DS9: Far Beyond the Stars, and maybe both parts of DS9: Past Tense.

From the list, I've only seen ALIEN and The Matrix. Out of both, ALIEN wins hands down.

I laughed at the first few Caveman commercials, and every new one here and there makes me chuckle a bit, but some of them are pretty stupid too. I'll check out the show if I ever care to remember about it.

Well, better the Cavemen than that stupid gecko. I very much hate that gecko... I pretty much hate any commercial with talking animals/ inanimate objects. Pet peeve and all.

I suppose I can see Damon playing Kirk. Brody, I'm not too sure about, and I've never even heard of the other guy (I don't watch any CSI). Trek has never really had any big Hollywood actors playing anything buy cameos, and to have these big actors staring in the movie just to appeal to a new fan base doesn't seem like Trek to me. Don't get me wrong, I think Trek needs a good boost in fans as much as anyone else, but this direction they're taking the franchise seems like a bad idea.

*sigh* I just need to wait and see how this goes. Everything now is pretty much rumors and anything can end up changing during production. It's too early for anyone to be too pessimistic about this movie.

It was defective. Instead of throwing it away, they gave it to Wes so that he could think he was important.

I'm not sure I like this idea of "reimagining" Star Trek. Tim Burton's Planet of the Apes was a "reimagining" in the same way described, and look how that turned out...

I saw this topic on IMDB and it looked like a good discussion.

If Superman individually went up against all the forces in the Trek universe (Klingons, Borg, Dominion, etc), who would he beat and who would beat him?

I say that Superman could defeat every force except for the Dominion and possibly Starfleet. Of course Superman would mow through every ship the Dominion can offer, but it would still be too much for him. Knowing how much influence the Dominion has, I'm sure they would find out about Kryptonite eventually and stop at nothing from getting some.

The Borg wouldn't be that much of a threat, seeing as how their technology won't work on Kryptonians unless they somehow assimilated some while they were in their weakened state after Kryptonite exposure, and the fact that both the crew of the Enterprise and Voyager killed 2 queens.

The Klingons, Cardassians, and Romulans are too sure of themselves, so they'll fall easily.

What plot holes?

This new film is full of plot holes, why does Umbrella want to replace all their customers with killer zombies, totally stupid, the bio weapon idea was plausible, this is far from it!

That was the old IMDB storyline. If you read the article above, you see the real story, from Paul himself. They couldn't control the outbreak so now the world is in ruins. Kind of like Reign of Fire with zombies.

by RE4, Umbrella isn't even around anymore, so how can Umbrella be in the future?

The movies are an alternate timeline from the games. They're basically the Resident Evil games retold from Paul Anderson's eyes.

Plus, Wesker is trying to bring back Umbrella. Not the company itself, but what the company stood for; greed and corruption and lots and lots of money. Plus evil deeds, but that's in the game storyline. RE5 will finish Wesker and Umbrella off.

Filmmaker talks about the trilogy concept, Road Warrior and burying Vegas in sand.

June 29, 2006 - This week at the Hollywood and Video Games Summit in Beverly Hills, we got a chance to talk to the keynote speaker, filmmaker Paul W.S. Anderson. The director, famous for adapting videogames to film, talked briefly about the third movie in the Resident Evil trilogy, Resident Evil: Extinction.

 

 

 

"My concept behind the trilogy of movies I always imagined making was: the first movie would be a prequel to the very first game. It would tell the back story of the videogame world. The second movie would be set kind of intertwined with what was happening in Raccoon City. And then the third movie would be like a post script to the world of the videogame," Anderson explained.

 

"So the third movie, Resident Evil: Extinction is set several years in the future and it's pretty much after the Umbrella Corporation has failed to control the outbreaks of the T-Virus and the world has literally been wiped out. There's very little humanity left and a handful of human survivors are traveling around the remnants of the world in these heavily armored convoys and what they do is they go to the least populated parts of the world, because they figure that's where the least undead will be, and they travel in these heavily armored trucks and customized rolling fortresses—it's very Road Warrior--at high speed so that the undead don't get anywhere near them. So that's where the movie takes place, primarily in the deserts of Nevada and around Las Vegas. But of course, it's a Las Vegas that has kind of fallen now, because what's happened is, with no one to take care of it, the desert has come back in and half-buried Vegas. So… we built all these casinos which are sort of buried in the sand.

 

"We built… parts of Paris [the casino]. So we built a chunk of the Eiffel Tower, but half-buried in sand. It's really spectacular."
