Yesterday's Enterprise

Recommended Posts

Alright, I still think the Enterprise-D could have held out against the 3 K'Vort Klingon cruisers because for one thing, they only fired 5 topredoes throughout the whole battle! Plus, if they would have continued firing phasers the whole time they could have destroyed the ships.

I mean, when you look at the firepower it used in "The Best of Both Worlds" firing volleys of torpedoes and all phaers at the ;) Cube, 3 K'Vort ships wouldn't have stood a chance.

They could have also separated which would have permitted one half to escort the -C and the other to concentrate on engaging the Klingons. :)

And yes I know that the writers wrote that the Enterprise would be destroyed, but if you think about it the -D could have won.

Also, too bad they didn't have a special edition that showed the ending the writers had actually written, with all the death scenes and stuff.

The D's tech could've been alot different in that timeline. She's probably war-beaten, and even though more of her resources would've been dedicated to weaponry, they still may not hold up to the Klingon counterparts. The Klingons, with the power they now had, had likely progressed a little faster in that timeline than the restored one. Since history had completely been altered, we can't really compare regular K'Vorts to "Y.E." K'Vorts. Besides, even though it was a surprise attack, 2 K-birds handled the D in "Rascals" and the appearance of 2 of them in "The Defector" scared the living daylights out of Tomolok and his 2 Rommie warbirds. (yes, uneven odds, but his expression spoke volumes ;) )

to get everyone on track, it was classified as a warship and sauser-sep wouldn't been availiable. besides, they're supplies had to be limited so they wouldn't have time to load torpedos.

I agree with Ace. It's impossible to compare technology in alternate timelines. You could also nitpick that the hull of the alternate Enterprise-D took one heck of a pounding after her shields were down. (You gotta love the sound it made, though.) Compare that to what happened to the hull of the real Enterprise-D in "Generations." It's easy to see we're comparing apples and oranges.
