prometheus 0 Posted August 16, 2008 I love FOX news' analogy: travelling by bubble os something more used by the witches of Oz - who writes this?
Eratosthenes 0 Posted August 16, 2008 Yeah I saw that...I have no idea who FOX actually employs...probably the Oompa Loompa population or something.
Bethlehem 7 Posted August 16, 2008 I am starting to think people may not believe OZ is real.
Theunicornhunter 2 Posted August 16, 2008 Okay, why is - using a literary reference to illustrate that some people might think bubble travel is more the realm of fantasy than reality - a bad thing? How many average joes on the street are versed in M theory? I think the fact that scientists believe this will someday be a reality is a good thing. I am starting to think people may not believe OZ is real. They say the same thing about unicorns.
rob39874 0 Posted August 29, 2008 You know if we wrote for Fox we wiould have Used Star Trek not Oz. I mean who wrote that needs to be chained to a chair and forced to watch Spocks Brain over and over again for 24 hours.
Theunicornhunter 2 Posted August 29, 2008 (edited) You know if we wrote for Fox we wiould have Used Star Trek not Oz. Reallly, what Trek episode used bubble travel? Edited August 29, 2008 by TheUnicornHunter
Eratosthenes 0 Posted August 29, 2008 I think he means the 'warp bubble'.
Theunicornhunter 2 Posted August 29, 2008 (edited) playind devil's advocate here - sure I thought of the warp bubble when reading the article but using the analogy on the general public would have left most readers clueless. Not only is it a reference only a niche interest group would get - it was never a visual image in the series - whereas that big floating bubble with Glinda inside is a visual image people can relate to. We're talking first sentence opener to get people's attention. Edited August 29, 2008 by TheUnicornHunter
