As reported at The Trek Movie Report, the new Star Trek XI teaser trailer will be shown on January 18, 2008 with Cloverfield, a monster movie produced by J.J.Abrams. Work began on the trailer before principal photography for the film, which began earlier in November. The trailer may show the construction of the Enterprise. Cloverfield may have been chosen as the film before which the teaser trailer will be shown due to the Abrams connection. Or the placement of the trailer with Cloverfield may be due to a bid to increase ticket sales, bringing in Star Trek fans who might not normally choose to see the movie.
