Angela 1 Posted June 1, 2006 (edited) A UK chemical plant formerly owned chemicals giant ICI has experienced two explosions, and is thought to have released a chemical cloud. The particular plant on the site is said to have dealt in synthetic Ammonia and is said to have begun experiencing its explosions at 12.30am BST (GMT+1) with a low rumbling. One eye witness described the explosions as loud rumblings that lasted mins. Local fire chief has reported the explosion as an expolsive release of ammonia, the crews are on site in a protective measure and the inccident has been scaled down from a major inccident to a lesser occurance and are awaiting the arrival of the sites engineers to make the site safe. Tal 0 Posted June 1, 2006 Nah wasnt to bad, Roads were not closed for long adn im still alive and kicking. (Its only a few miles from where i live) heard the explosion last night or at least a large rummbling noise. And only 2 injuryes which were minor. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
