fiero84 0 Posted December 4, 2005 I heard some neat CGI scenes were added, what were they? On planet Vulcan, is there some large creature moving? Were any scenes cut, like Wormhole effect? I am hoping this version just added some CGI and didn't take any cool actions scenes out. ... I am pondering purchasing this. Any feed back is welcome. Kor37 9 Posted December 5, 2005 Its well worth owning. Just about all of the F/X shots were reshot. This isn't your average Director's Cut. They actually went back and reshot a large part of the movie instead of just adding in some extra scenes. The result is fantastic. Its like watching a new movie. fiero84 0 Posted December 30, 2005 I finally purchased ST:TMP -The Directors' Edition. I was afraid the movie might get edited as in 'cuts' however- It was great! The added CGI enhanced the movie. Scenes looked brighter than original also. It was neat the CGI artists followed the original story boards instead of trying to invent, 'one upmanship' the original effects. Also remembered this movie was long. The speacial features are worth the DVD alone. ..anyway.
