Kirk's Uniform Error in ST IV

Can anyone tell me if I've made a mistake? I think that I've noticed a uniform error on Kirk at the end of ST: IV. When the crew is on the shuttlepod traveling to the Enterprise-A, the Admiral pin on the strap has been replaced by a Captain's pin, but he's still got the Admiral's gold piping on the inside of the black lining of the uniform...did I catch an error or is there an actual reason for this?

I don't recall seeing the flub you point out but I don't doubt you, another happens in ST2; Peters blood on Kirks uniform changes position.

The error is that he's still wearing the Admiral's uniform Jacket. Remember, At the end of the movie, Kirk is demoted to the rank of Captain for disobeying orders.
