NationStates is a free nation simulation game.

Build a nation and run it

according to your own warped political ideals.

Create a Utopian paradise for society's less fortunate or a

totalitarian corporate police state.

Care for your people or deliberately

oppress them.

Join the United Nations or remain a rogue state. It's

really up to you.

[ NationStates currently ruled by STF members...

I used to have a country there. But most of the issues I was given to deal with as a leader were ridiculous. So I stopped playing along. Also, I took exception with the fact that simply because I chose a conservative government, my nation's description was "authoritarian nation with few freedoms". When in fact, I actually approved of many individual freedoms and rights in the questionaire prior to registering my nation-state.

I may just be paranoid, but it seemed as if every leader with a libertarian or liberal country had a wonderful description for their nation-state, while more conservative leaders were all treated like Joseph Stalin.

That's not quite true. I created a nation that was supposed to be a liberal country. It's UN classification... Corrupt dictatorship. *shrugs*

My primary gripes with Nation States was that most of my nations "Urgent" matters were so dumb. Like, the national animal over-breeding, and my having to decide whether or not to allow my people to hunt the animal in question.

Also, I wanted to invade my neighbors, burn their cities and salute my armies as they trampled my heathen neighbors underfoot..... :tank:

So, okay....I have a bit of Cardassian in me.

I joined, my nation is called The Empire of the Psychics. I was wondering if A Slice of Surrealism is the region that all the Star Trek fans joined. If so, I may have to migrate over there.

My country seems to get more and more corrupt as time erodes..

First in my region for Most Corrupt Government and No.306 worldwide.

If you remember that the size of the world in NationStates would prolly envelope at least most of the inner-solar-system due to so many countries upon or around its surface, it gives one a weird sense of accomplishment or something akin thereto.
