It does sound good, but from I've read, the crowd was dead.

It's because they were burned out from the live RAW that was aired before Smackdown.

I know the WWE will add crowd sound effects in post-production before it airs, but you can tell when it's fake and artificial.

yeah and they used to make fun of the Goldberg Chants from WCW

This just in:

The WWE has contacted Matt Hardy and asked him to hold off signing a TNA contract for a few weeks. I think we can all guess where this is going........

I've been trying to avoid the spoilers because I've fallen behind. I just finished watching the PPV. My thoughts:

- Why is Coach with JR and King?

- Vicera/Lillian - Lillian really doesn't sing all that well. Cool....Godfather!............ahhh.......poor Lillian.

- Cena,Christian,Jericho - Great match. Too bad this title will be overshadowed by the RAW title.

- Hell In The Cell - Wow..Chair wrapped in barbed wire....Holy Mick Foley!

Batista won again? No way he is staying on RAW now. Hes gotta be going to Smackdown. If he does go, then HHH will set his sights on Cena and Cena can say hello to midcard status again.

Jr-isms heard just during the one match:

- Whipped like a Government Mule

- For the love of God.......For the love of GOD!!!!

- Slobberknocker

- OH MY GOD!

I just finished watching the TNA PPV too. It was pretty good. They wouldn't let Jarrett win the belt so he backed out of the match and went home, the little baby. Raven won the match and is now the new champ!

Jeff Jarrett is the one reason TNA will be going nowhere, although he is a better wrestler than HHH.

Speaking of which, I'm sure he will dominate the WWE Championship soon enough, but as that is the proper WWE title, it doesn't bother me that much, although I do feel that HHH no longer needs to hold any world title for at least one year.

Interesting news about Matt Hardy. Assuming it's true.

WWE News: Raw draws huge rating for post-Vengeance edition with latest lottery picks

By Wade Keller, Torch editor

Jun 28, 2005, 6:51 pm

Raw drew a 4.4 rating, well above the recent average. Those who enjoy the Diva Search will be pleased to learn that it was the highest rated segment of the show drawing a 4.7 rating, a tie with the overrun featuring Hulk Hogan & Shawn Michaels & John Cena vs. Tyson Tomko & Christian & Chris Jericho. The lowest rated quarter hour was 3.7.

This is good news.

All criticisms of the WWE aside, it needs the good ratings because if the WWE collapsed, the sport of professional wrestling would die, or at least revert to a regional system once again.

They should be aiming for the target rating of about 5.0.

More work needs to be done, but they are on the right track.

Making the WWE Championship the main title again greatly pleases me.

Wrestling News

Apparently it's partially true what Christian said about Jannetty being in jail. According to PWTorch.COM he spent some time in jail for a "minor battery offense".

Segments of JBL's commentary on the ECW One Night Stand DVD have been released. These are some of his comments:

- He keeps on calling Mike Awesome: "Mike Awful."

- As Masato Tanaka comes out, JBL yells five or six times: "THATS MY DOORMAN!"

- As Tommy Dreamer comes out, he says, "This is the main event??"

- As Sandman looks under the ring: "What's he looking for now, a treadmill?" "Or an oxygen tank!"

- As the BWO comes out: "And you wonder why they went out of business"

- About Blue Meanie: "Fat f--- with blue hair. Go find your porn star wife!"

- About Meanie as he's dancing on the middle rope: "It looks like a donkey screwing a basketball, him being up there. Go donate your body to science fiction, you fat lowly lowly (yes, he says it twice) pig. He looks like a blue haired 800 pound Abe Lincoln."

- As Big Stevie Cool is giving his speech: "Go home now."

- As Kash comes down: "This is a carnival."

- On Balls: "They're chanting balls" and then chants along with them saying "balls" approximately 100 times before saying, "You know if you really beat someone, you lick them. Does this mean you lick balls."

- On Axl: "Has anyone heard of the Atkins diet"

- On Balls & Axl (this is funny because of Johnny Ace's interest in signing them): "Who are the fat guys who came in?"

- On the main event: "This could be awful, but it might not be good. I gotta be drunk for this one."

- Regarding Mike Awesome: "Someone run in make Awesome use one of his 93 finishers..."

- When Lance Storm runs in: "You can hear the paint dry. Here comes the most boring man in the history of boring. Lance Storm couldn't fill an arena if you gave free beer and free tickets. They say he's retiring today, (mumbled) if a tree falls in a forest, no one cares. National Hockey League. No one cares."

- Lance gets thrown out: "Is his career over now? Bye Lance, don't come back."

- As the flaming table gets lit: "Now that's heat! Is there not a fire marshal in the New York state watching this?"

The story about the WWE contacting Matt Hardy seem to be true. This is what PWInsider had to say about the situation:

As we noted several days ago, Matt hardy was contacted by WWE several days before the RAW wedding angle. They asked him if he would wait it out several weeks before signing with TNA as they were interested in trying to work out an angle for a return. Sources indicate that fan reactions over the past several months have indicated to Vince McMahon that Hardy has the [potential to be something else and sell merchandise. The issue is that there are obviously emotional problems between the two.

This places Hardy in a really good position as he's become a very talked about hot commodity who has his pick of the litter in the near future, even if WWE doesn't make him an offer to return. Hardy is at the point he can pretty much write his own ticket on the independents (where some promoters have claimed he is asking for $2,500-$3000 a shot), TNA, or even possibly Japan. If course, as it stands, there is also a distinct possibility he can head back into World Wrestling Entertainment (if they make him an offer) with an angle that fans are literally asking for weekly. In many ways, Hardy's current situation could be compared somewhat to Bret Hart's red hot momentum after the Montreal incident in November 1997, although WCW completely dropped the ball on that once Hart debuted for them.

Let's hope they can work out something and get Matt Hardy back into the WWE. Hopefully Edge and Matt can put aside personal problems (for frick's sake, it's only Lita) and make some money on a white-hot angle.

With the WWE moving to the USANetwork, PWTorch reports that according to their sources, several wrestlers are about to get fired or "released". Not a bad idea, since I can probably think about 25 people on the roster who should get fired. My problem is that although WWE is firing people, they aren't raiding ROH and TNA for any fresh talent.

WrestlingObserver.COM says that more roster changes may be on their way in the next week or so. It will probably involve the lower card. It might be interesting. I still want the CW and Women's divisions to switch shows.

My thoughts on RAW:

Click For Spoiler

- Why is Coach with Jr and King again? Is this a permanent thing now? Does anyone know?

- Angle/Flair - Nice p.issing contest

- "Its not Bischoff's fault!"....That was great.

- Big Slow to RAW!.......Big deal......should be sent to OVW instead. I guess this means he is out of the Smackdown Championship match. Orten will probably replace him.

- Maria - This has GOT to be an act. NOBODY can be this stupid!

- Kane/Lita - I can just see Matt watching TV yelling "Squeeze Kane....SQUEEZE!"

- Chris Masterjoke - This is really getting boring. Does this guy ever have a real match?

- Carlito - Wow! The Cabana comes to RAW. I wonder what happens to the High-Light Reel now?

- RVD to RAW!.......Cool!....Love the ECW shirt!

- Flair/Angle - This is the best match Flair has had in a long time. For Flair at his age to wrestle a match for this length of time is amazing. His cardio must be incredible. <_<

- Flair - Master of the Testiculer Claw!....

- HOGAN!...HOGAN!....HOGAN!.....Hes Hulking up!....Nothing can stop him now!!!

It is an act. She's one of the few "new" DIVAS who actually does have some kind of personality.

I think the WWE will see dollar signs in this Matt/Edge thing and will book it. There IS a chance it could end in a shoot, but I doubt it. They will realise just how much money they can make from this.

I just hope they don't rehire Matt then fire him again after the angle plays itself out.

At his age, he has every right to look in pain and tired. He shouldn't even be wrestling anymore much less a 15-20 minute match. When I do karate and spar someone for just 10 minutes, it takes a lot out of me.

I'm sure glad I recorded the ECW PPV. WWE has ruined the dvd. They have deleted all of the expletives. Even more shocking, they have replaced the Sandman's theme with some generic WWE entrance music. They also muted out the crowd singing along to the Sandman theme. I'm not sure I'll buy the dvd now.

I'm trying to figure out what Chavo will be doing on RAW. He was perfect as a Cruiserweight contender.

Oh, on a really unimportant note, announcer Marc Loyd has been fired from WWE.

My thoughts on Smackdown:

Click For Spoiler
Undertaker - World's longest entrance

- Mexicools - I still don't know why they are attacking Chavo. I guess no revenge for Chavo since hes coming to RAW. "Are there any Mexicans in the house?"....Uh..yeah.....Chavo.....and you just beat him up!

Somebody please take the mic away from them. This promo is brutal!

- Melina/Michelle - They both suck.

- Rey/Eddie - ???....Whats THAT all about? Superlong promo with no payoff.

- Christian to Smackdown - Good move!

- Smackdown Championship - Thank goodness they abandoned this idea of a Smackdown championship! Poor JBL got screwed though...lol

This is good. Now all of the belts are where they should be. The real belt is on RAW and the WCW belt is on Smackdown.
