A very "technology" heavy episode this one.

Interesting in the sense that terraforming can uncover many problems with planets that "seem" to be uninhabited.

I must say though, that I HATE it when they use numbers for planets, like Velera III and Rigel IX and so forth. I'm not sure why, but it seriously annoys me.

This is the "ugly bags of mostly water" episode, although "Microbrain" wasn't a very nice name for these aliens.

I liked the scene where the laser gun tries to kill or destroy Data. That was pretty cool.

This episode gets a rating of 1.

one of the worst TNG episode I have seen. An entire episode based around small crystals as a villian is about as exciting as it sounds, it's not. I constantly watch the clock and half way fall asleep when I watch it. It barely has any replay value but isn't unwatchable

A great ep. Sure it was derivative of TOS's "Devil in the Dark", but it had its moments like when the dot-shaped lifeforms refer to humans as "ugly bags of mostly water". A fun ep for sure.
