Star Trek Experience in Las Vegas

Have you had a chance to go? That's my mission in life, to atleast one time before I die to go. I live in the State of Georgia so it's not a right down the road drive. I'm probably going to wait until I can find some one to go with me in the future. But have you actually been? Could you tell me what it was like?

Yeah, I went in April with my brother and I just loved it. The Borg Invasion 4D ride was amazing..But I liked the Klingon ride much better..How can you not like walking onto the bridge of the Enterprise D and standing in the very spot that I've seen Worf at in all those episodes..OMG..I thought I was going to lose it emotionally when I walked onto the bridge..It was a dream come true.. B)

 

And then there was Quarks! What a cool retaurant/bar. We ate ALL our meals there. They had these Klingons walking around razzing everybody! I loved it..And they did a great job with the food and beverages I think. Course more times than not I was at the bar drinking Romulan Ale!

 

Yeah, I had a blast.. I'm planning on going again next year when I get my tax money back again..It is an expensive trip but well worth it..It's not just down the road for me either since I live in Massachusetts.

Yup but it was back in '98 so we didn't see all the borg stuff. It was our "honeymoon". We went there right after we eloped.

Nope i have not been to it but i would love to go one time only the price to fly from holland to vegas would put a dent in my pocket but me and debbie are planning a holiday in the US some time in the next 1 1/2 years so mabe we could go then.

Unfortunately I haven't had the chance to be there yet... B) But I really would like to be there, especially at Borg Invasion 4D! B)

 

But first I must save enough money to the trip, and since I live in Norway, it's gonna cost alot! B)

Definitely worth the trip! We went when it first opened, so we haven't seen the Borg invasion either, but Quarks was just awesome. They had a drink called "Warp Core Breach" for two which they brought to your table in a fishbowl with two straws. Steam was rolling off of it and basically it was just "hooch" but it was hilarious.

 

And the Klingons parading around were cool.

 

I think I ordered a "Romulan Warbird" for dinner one night, which was just grilled chicken.

 

The Hilton is a very nice hotel and there is another restaurant/buffet type thing on the premises. We ate most of our meals at Quarks, but switched off to the buffet every once in a while.

 

Definitely go if you can possibly arrange it.

I went and loved it! It was a few years ago before they put in the Borg thing, but we had such a good time!

 

Hubby and I split a "warp core breach"... nothing fancy, but it was still a cool drink with the dry ice and such.

 

We actually considered getting married in a Star Trek wedding there, but we couldn't for financial reasons... renting Starfleet uniforms and stuff is not cheap! B)

No, but someday I will go. It just depends on persuading my parents and finding the proper time. TSonofvulcan and I want to go together sometime. Maybe during summer break...

Well I've got religious convention I'm attending in the summer too, so I have to find out the date for that before I can make other plans, but I'm going again this year one way or another.

I went to The Experience a few years ago and it was a blast!. The ride is awesome!After the ride there are tons of Trek shops and of course there is Quarks. We ate there twice. I ate the "Holy Rings of Betazed" (onion rings) and the "Ribs of

Targ" (baby back ribs). They also have some cool drinks with smoke coming out of them. I had the "Warp Core Breach". In addition to all of this they have tons of props and costumes from the series and movies on display. I want to go back now to experience the Borg ride.

Are your parents Star Trek fans? Even if they are not, Las Vegas is an awesome place to visit. There is so much to see other than gambling and crime .... New York, New York is neat, The Stratosphere very cool, Excalibur's show, Mandelay Bay, plus the Grand Canyon not too far away, the desert itself, helicopter tours ... we were never bored. And we only played the slots so we really didn't gamble all that much.

 

The problem for you at your age is not being able to go into the casinos ... but if you've seen one, you've seen them all. You would really not be missing much!

 

I heard the Elton John is doing a show in Vegas now!?!? Now that I might like to see, but they can keep Celine Dion

Depends on what you are doing. You can usually get killer deals on hotels, even right on the strip. After we went the first time and stayed at the Las Vegas Hilton, a few months later they sent us an offer for $14 a night to come back and stay with them again. And they were going to throw in either two tickets to the Star Trek Experience ride or two tickets for a free dinner buffet.

 

The shows are definitely outrageously priced, but sleeping and eating are fairly cheap. I seem to remember it was about $13 or $14 to ride the Experience, which we did three times.

Living in L.A. CA, Vegas is like our backyard. Three hour drive and we're there. I haven't been there in two years, so I haven't been to the Borg Invasion (planning for this Spring). Prior to that I used to go at least twice a year, and everyone that took the trip knew that we would have to stop at the Hilton. Everyone thats ever been there with me has enjoyed it. The biggest thrill is standing on the bridge of the enterprise D. Being transported is also very cool!! Quarks and the shops are also an enjoyable experience. The walk through museum is nice with the timeline, but I wonder if it's been updated in the last couple of years?
