So...Shatner's idea could possibly work then...given that we really don't know how the 'clock' ticks on "Planet Borg". Well, if Decker and V'Ger became one, then travelled hundreds of thousands of years back in time, and settled on a planet... then tried to add a civilization to itself... perhaps THAT could be how the Borg happened, but that's just a little bit far fetched! ddillard 2 Posted May 26, 2003 That is definitely an interesting idea, and it could be feasible. We have seen alot of time travel on Trek. And who is to say that it did not happen. I am sure that Decker was aware of the meathod that had been used by prior ships that lead to time travel and when he mearged with V'ger than V'ger would then have thi information. And how do we know that it was then not decided by the "new" consciiosness that it would be easier for the evolution to continue on an uninhabited planet in the past where there was not as much traffic in space.
