As long as they are Star Trek novels, they are allowed. If they are not Star Trek novels, this is a Star Trek novel contest.

Too hard to narrow it down to one. "Echoes", the "Eugenics Wars" duology, and the "Millennium" trilogy are my three favorites.

I'd have to say:

"Star Trek: The Next Generation; Q-Squared" by Peter David

"Star Trek: The Next Generation/X-Men; Planet X" by Michael Jan Freidman

Those are my two favorite Star Trek authors!

The Lives of Dax - DS9 - can't remember the author

Pathways - Voyager - Jeri Taylor

I wish I could choose a few more because Mosaic and A Stitch in Time are fantastic Trek novels but you only want two so thats ok.

Madam Captain out!!

The Lives of Dax - DS9 - can't remember the author

Just FYI, The Lives of Dax isn't actually a novel, but an anthology of short stories (and therefore had numerous authors). It was edited by Marco Palmieri.

How about "Vendetta" (ST:TNG) by Peter David.

It has Q, the Borg, and the Doomsday Machine from the original series.
