A l t e r E g o 9 Posted November 2, 2004 You may already know this but it was news to me... ST: TAS coming to DVD Too bad it's never considered canon..
He Who Shall Not Be Named 2 Posted November 3, 2004 It may not be considered canon, but by all the tests that determine what is canon and what isn't it should be. It involved the original actors and Roddenbery himself was directly involved. By that measure it is even MORE canon than DS9, VOY, ENT, Generations, First Contact, Insurrection, and Nemesis. Plus it has it's own section on startrek.com along with the other shows. If that doesn't establish it as canon I don't know what does.
Wishfire 2 Posted November 4, 2004 Very good point. They should put TAS on Cartoon Network somewhere.
A l t e r E g o 9 Posted November 5, 2004 I added a poll to the thread for opinions on whether it should be considered canon or not. Based on LVR argument I think it should be.
Stephen of Borg 2 Posted December 6, 2004 it should be considered cannon and it should also come on Cartoon Network or a similar network
Klingonmike 0 Posted December 14, 2004 Yes it should be considered canon. After all most of the originals from TOS are involved with it including Gene Roddenberry!

Kor37 9 Posted March 9, 2005 I think TAS should be considered canon because: 1. It was on TV and was a series (which seems to be the only canon criteria) 2. It was done by Gene Roddenberry 3. Most of the original actors were in it.

VaBeachGuy 12 Posted March 10, 2005 I believe that it is considered canon to a large extent if not entirely. I'll have to do some searching but I believe I've read that Paramount and Gene Roddenberry considered it to be so. As evidence just look at the episode library on ST.COM. Here's the link to st.com regarding what is and isn't considered canon
youbroughtheryouRiker 2 Posted May 5, 2007 Should be. For the most part it agrees and is in concordance with what we know and accept of Star Trek. Any discrepancy is pretty easily explained.
