I saw a post below talking about favorite pilots and I thought they were talking first episodes. :o What was the best First episode and if you can why?

I voted for Caretaker because it was the start of an interesting premise to the second best season voyager had. (Yes a first season can be good) It had intregue, a good cast of characters, and a great plot. Too bad after Cold Fire, we never saw the caretaker speices ever agian, which would have been nice.

I really want to sat The Cage because it is a classic and is miles better than the television we get served up today, but Where No Man Has Gone Before gets my vote because it is my favourite episode of all Trek.

Quote from comic book guy: "Best episode EVER!"

This my list of ranking:

1. Where No Man Has Gone Before

2. The Cage

3. Broken Bow

4. Encounter at Farpoint

5. Caretaker

6. The Emissary

Broken Bow was great, and Caretaker is also very good. Encounter at Fairpoint is not very good at all, don't really know why I don't like it, since I love almost everything else about TNG.

I had to go with Emissary. I thought it set up the series very well.

Emissary had the most intrigue and was so different it was very entertaining

Caretaker then came second, with me. Good mystery and ending.

Next came Broken Bow. Again there was the interest and the wow factor.

Where No-man...came next. Great storyline and a good introduction.

And finally comes, Encounter at Farpoint. Oh dear. A bit of a bad start I thought for a series that was to become my favourite. I didn't see this pilot until after watching the last four seasons of TNG and so all of that first series just "didnt seem as good" as those that followed. Had I seen it back in 1987 I probably would have loved it and therefore had a better memory of it. But in the end, it was just a big jelly fish forced into being a shopping mall. Aw boo hoo!

I liked Broken Bow. It was a great starting for Enterprise.

Caretaker wan't that excitng and interesting.

I have never seen the cage or where no man has gone before.

Encounter at farpoint wasn't good either.

Emissary was great! Although I believe Broken Bow is just a little better.

Has to be Encounter at Farpoint for me, loved that. There was so much involved in the storyline.

I've seen them all, and even though I love Scott Bakula, I had to go with "The Cage". For me, it was the most imaginative.
