Guest Chris Posted March 15, 2003 With the addition of the phase cannons in the ENT episode "Silent Enemy", something has come to bother me. It has been stated in all the various series that only photon torpedoes can be used at warp since they can achieve warp velocity. Since phasers cannot travel faster than light, they are not used while at warp. However, examples of this have arisen in several episodes, including "Shockwave, Part II" and "Future Tense." I realize that the creators might try to explain this away by stating that the phase cannons are not true phasers, but I have also witnessed this phenomenon in the VOY episode "Basics, Part I."
