sea trooper 0 Posted August 2, 2004 (edited) IMDB It's all the way on the bottom 7 episodes from the first and still the best Star Trek spin-off show highlighting the unflappable Captain Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart, whose Royal Shakespeare Company training brought a sense of authority to the bridge) in a 2-disc set. Episodes include the jaunty The Big Goodbye, where Picard and Data (Brent Spiner) are trapped in a holodeck murder-mystery set in 1941 San Francisco, Sarek (with Mark Leonard playing the Vulcan ambassador), Family (Picard returns to Earth to reconnect with his estranged brother). The Drumhead (an inquiry into possible sabotage becomes a witch-hunt), Darmok (Paul Winfield is the captain of an alien ship that beams Picard down to a planet for a radical attempt at cross-cultural communication -- think of it as this series' enlightened twist on Arena), The Inner Light (Picard lives a life in one day -- literally), and Tapestry (Q gives Picard a chance to relive his past and correct his most regretted mistake, and the changes cascade into a vastly different life). SUPPLEMENTS: The 1994 From Here to Infinity, a documentary about space exploration hosted and narrated by Patrick Stewart. DETAILS: Full screen, Dolby Digital 5.1 and Surround. No rating. Paramount. Available to own tomorrow! <_< I'd sure love to get that! Edited August 2, 2004 by sea trooper
