I am deeply, truly sorry for my crase, heartless "joke". No one, myself included, likes to be made fun of, or see something or someone you hold near and dear be made the butt of a joke, even if no ill will was intended. I won't try to make an excuse, however, I have been putting in a lot of hours at work, beginning at 0500 until after 1600. Sleep deprivation can have a sinister effect on a person, that no amount of caffeine or energy drinks can overcome.

The state now in question is Washington.

 

I don't truthfully know the state's nickname, animal, or flower.

 

BUT, this I do know: its the home to Mount St. Helens, the volcano, and to some of the tallest mountains in the Lower 48 - to include MT. Rainier. They also have a beer - Rainier Beer <has a neat ring to it.!
