Jack_Bauer 1 Posted July 6, 2004 I can see that. I think I've become immune to Nyquil. The first time it was dynamite and then I started waking up feeling worse or pretty much the same. Same goes for Dimetapp.
A l t e r E g o 9 Posted July 7, 2004 I would have believed you UH, I've always thought the same thing. I guess for the sake of the kids we'll keep giving them because the kids believe it works... For our selves; we do shots of bourbon for the 'nyquill effect'
Jeanway 0 Posted July 7, 2004 I have asthma and before I was diagnosed I'd cough alot at night. It's a broncospasm. My Albuterol inhaler stops the spasm. Also if I just smell Vicks Vapo Rub, that also stops my coughing. When I am sick with a URI, I take Benedryl every 4 hours, day and night, I have to. I've tried DM, and it always works for me. Ice cold drinks sipped through a straw also helps bring down any swelling in the throat. That's been my experience.

Admiral Kirk 1 Posted July 8, 2004 I've always thought that the cough syrups don't reall work. They have always been nasty and hard to swallow in my case.
