headborg 1 Posted May 25, 2004 if Registry #'s are in order of construction: U.S.S. Archon-NCC-189..lost 2167..if it was the last build/lost same year...and U.S.S. Carolina NCC-160...and "Daedalus" first NCC-159...that's 30 starships..2 ships built each 2 years(1-Utopia Peitia/1-earth orbit) ...Deadalus must have been built 2137! Before Enterprise! Ship Registry # launched Deadalus NCC-159 2137-earth Carlina NCC-160 2139-earth NCC-161 2139-U.P(mars) 162 2141-earth 163 2141-mars 164 2143-earth 165 2143-mars 166 2145-earth 167 2145-mars 168 2147-earth 169 2147-mars In 2149 Earth begins construction of NX-01 "Enterprise"....reserve NCC-170 til trials/testing done: Enterprise NCC-170 171 2149-mars In 2151 Construction begins on NX-02 reserve NCC-172 for "Columbia 173 2151-mars 174 2153-earth 175 2153-mars 176 2155-earth 177 2155-mars 178 2157 earth 179 2157 mars 180 2159 earth 181 2159 mars 182 2161 earth 183 2161 mars 184 2163 earth 185 2163 mars 186 2165 earth 187 2165 mars 188 2167 earth Archon N.C.C-189 2167 mars please pm me with some suggestions as to some names for these Starships I think it works out really well that NX-01 would fit the construction schedule and be the 170 starship registered! it's easy to see how "Constitution" Enterprise could get the 1701 registry ###!!!!! Jer8m8 0 Posted May 26, 2004 I'm not sure but I don't think Utopia Planita was built by this time...Maybe the other registry numbers are space shuttles, or smaller missions to Mars or other places-ie not starships.
WEAREBORG4102 0 Posted May 26, 2004 McKinley was built I know..... So maybe McKinley not Utopia Planitia...
headborg 1 Posted May 27, 2004 Enterprise-"Terra Nova" established Utopia Planitia was there and the "conistoga" launched from mars....which goes against the date given in Voyager as to "when" Mars was colonized...but it's only just another continuity thing. Captain Jean-Luc Picard 1 Posted May 27, 2004 The original idea for the registry number was to serve as a serial number. Example: U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 NCC = United Earth Vessel 17 = Type of Ship 01 = Prototype However, the movies and TNG established registry numbers as being production numbers. The newer the ship, the higher the number. With that said, the NX-01 is the first of the Starfleet ships as we know them.
Admiral Kirk 1 Posted May 27, 2004 (edited) Do you mean that Enterprise is the first modern Starfleet vessel? Saucer, engine nacelles and so forth? I just thought that Enterprise was just the first experiment of that type? I may have just answered my own question... I suppose by the 24th century tens of thousand of vessels had been constructed.
