welfconfed 2 Posted May 22, 2004 The plants in the ship's arboretum, the various organic samples in sickbay (viruses, bacterium, etc.), and (on the Enterprise-D at least) Spot's kittens and I believe in "The Child" Ian, Troi's alien child, spoke of puppies. Also, we must not forget the viruses, fungi, and bacterium in the air, as well as on and in the crew. The transporters and air filtration systems my eliminate most of these, but it wouldn't be good for the crews long term health to get rid of all of them.
