We have huge chicken wire cages for the birds. The hawks do get some of the pigeons, though. Years ago, there was a hawk that kept coming here for "lunch" every day. One day I sat in my shed and waited for it and when it came I plugged it with a pellet rifle. It was a huge hawk with like a 4 foot wing span. I wanted to get it stuffed but found out that that it was endangered and I could get in trouble so it went in a dumpster instead........ :)

Hawks are beautiful birds. When I was growing up in Riverdale one of my neighbors had a Hawk and an Eagle (another neighbor had an Owl).

Since it is still very early in the morning the most beautiful thing I have seen so far today is my two little girls sleeping peacefully and talking in their sleep.

A baby Robin that just left its nest for the first time and is sitting right outside my home office window. Mama and Papa are coming regularly to feed it. It doesn't know how to fly yet. I sure hope a predator bird or a cat doesn't get it........ :)
