For the last three I was not born. and for 3 of the others I don't remember at all.

but for 9-11 I do remember....

I was coming home from work when the first plane stuck. When I finnished work I went stright to a friends house I got through the door my dad had gone round to see him as well and one of my other friends, John was there allso.

I was just about to open my mouth to say hello when john said "Did you here? someone has blown up the world trade center" I waited for the punch line as it sounded like a joke, when he said nothing I said "And.....?" he said. "No realy." and he pointed to the TV. BBC news 24 was on with live coverage and as I watched the second plain came in. I just fell back into a chair I was horifide I couldnt speak.

I'm going to have to reply to this while googling my semi-functional memory,

1. I had just gotten home from work and turned on the morning news.

2. I was asleep, at the time I worked 3rd shift, I didn't find out until that evening, I was in a daze the rest of the night, it seemed so surreal.

3. I was at my grandmother's house, it was so amazing, all thos enuclear warheads and the wall was torn down by people, not politicians but people like me. Incredible.

4. I was in class, 5th grade. As a kid I really didn't understand what had happened, just a feeling that something bad had happened.

5. No idea on this one. I was a toddler.

6. Just a naughty thought at that point.

7. A newborn, and I was a fussy little thing, or so I'm told.

I was a sleep, because I live in Japan.
On 9-11
I was on board USS Harry S. Truman cleaning passway and hoping to get out of work early, because it was a beautiful day. But was proven very wrong. I was on board the ship for 2 sleepless days. I watch all the events that day on CNN.
When the Berlin Wall fell?
I was in school.
When Challanger exploded on take off?
I was in school, 6th grade, coming back from lunch.

When Columbia streaked across the Texas Sky for the final time? At home, between jobs. I almost never had the tv on then, and didn't know about it until the next day. Same first thought as most other people - not another one!

On 9-11? At the laundry. Two women told me that a plane had crashed into the WTC. I thought it was like when a small plane crashed into the Empire State years ago - people hurt and killed, but an accident. Went home, turned on the news just in time to catch the towers falling, and was in sleepless shock.

When the Berlin Wall fell? In school. I didn't fully comprehend what it meant, other than a great symbolic gesture by the people of Germany.

When Challanger exploded on take off? In high school. We were told about it when we dismissed for lunch. For some reason, I got the impression that my teacher wasn't that upset/impressed. When I headed for my flute lesson after school, and that teacher reacted with shock and sorrow (she hadn't heard), that's when it really hit me.

When you hear Elvis was dead? I was five years old, driving with my mother in the county seat, past a train yard (Yes, I remember that well!), when I heard it on the radio.

When Armstrong took a giant leap for us all? Not even a twinkle in daddy's eye yet.

When the last america chopper left Saigon? Too young to remember, but I'm glad my dad was already home after two tours!

When Columbia streaked across the Texas Sky for the final time?

In a gym near my house, watching it on TV.

On 9-11?

Going to bed at my home just outside of Tokyo (it was evening there, and I never

found out until the next morning).

When the Berlin Wall fell?

Tutoring fellow high school students in math.

When Challanger exploded on take off?

Sitting in Jr. High math class.

When you hear Elvis was dead?

ELVIS ISN'T DEAD! :wow:

Just kidding. I believe that was August 16, 1977. I was playing in the

backyard in northern Michigan.

When Armstrong took a giant leap for us all?

Not alive then.

When the last American chopper left Saigon?

April 30, 1975 if I remeber correctly - Probably running around the house wreaking havoc.

1) I was sitting in my living room when the news was that Nasa had lost contact. My mum held out hope that it was a technical difficulty. My father and I believed otherwise and as the seconds ticked by the certainty began to be become ever more concrete. Then we saw the most saddening pictures of the beutiful bird broken and burning. My first thoughts were of the children that were left be hind. And also on how it could happen.

2) On 9/11 I was at hospital after being attacked the evening before. My eye was damaged and the chemicals they put in was supposed to last 6 hours it barely lasted 2 hours I cried so hard. My mum had phoned my dad and he told her. She thought he was describing a movie, it seemed to surreal to be anything else. We got home and watched the replays of the plains hitting the towers, chills went through me and my thoughts were on the thoughts of the people trapped inside. Then we saw the towers collapse their inferstructure weakend so dramatically. and the people no longer felt the pain and fear, they were in a far better place than this world. I prayed for their souls, that those that died went to heaven, irrespective of whether they had done bad things or not.

3) I was in the living room of my old apartment. I knew there were major changes happening, that something like the fall of communisim was happening. But I didn't really grasp it.

4) I was sitting down to dinner (Baked Beans, mash and sausages) on a metal table with pictures of horses (I was 6) I remember the news people showing the pictures of it lifting gracefully from the pad and then a minute later seeing it explode. My mum said nothing, my dad thought technical error, and I sat and thought of the people there, who would never eat baked beans, mash and sausages again, like my friends mum who had died earlier that year.

5) Wasn't born until '81

6) "

7) "
